Job Requirements
- Less than high school education required
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- 12 to 24 months experience preferred
- Must have valid driver license
- Ability to work evening shifts
- Must be at least 21 years old if driving
- Clean driving record required for driving duties
- Completion of in-house defensive driving training if driving
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- 12 to 24 months of cleaning or environmental services experience preferred
- Ability to operate floor care and cleaning equipment
- Knowledge of cleaning protocols in healthcare settings
- Ability to follow safety standards including use of PPE
- Good physical stamina and attention to detail
- Valid driver license if driving duties are assigned
- Completion of defensive driving course if applicable
Job Duties
- Perform heavy cleaning tasks to maintain patient rooms offices hallways and other assigned areas
- Operate floor care equipment and related tools products and supplies
- Gather and dispose of trash and waste materials including medical waste
- Place linen on distribution carts and fold and stage scrub sets
- Maintain linen room cleanliness and organize supply closets
- Fill requisitions and stock housekeeping supplies and chemicals
- Dust mop floors and inspect cleaning equipment performing preventative maintenance
- Participate in patient safety rounding and monitor patients for distress
- Maintain hard surface floors following correct stripping refinishing and daily care procedures
- Maintain carpeted floors using appropriate cleaning and spotting techniques
- Clean and sanitize patient beds and rooms especially after transfers and discharges
- Transport waste and linen to designated collection sites
- Wear personal protective equipment while performing cleaning and waste transport tasks
