Job Description

Osborn Medical Center, located at 7400 E Osborn Rd, Scottsdale, AZ 85251, is a vital part of HonorHealth, one of Arizona's largest nonprofit healthcare systems. HonorHealth has a rich history dating back to 1927, built on a foundation of warmth, neighborly kindness, and an unwavering dedication to improving the health and well-being of the communities across the greater Phoenix area. The medical center operates with a focus on excellence in patient care and hospital services, supported by a team of skilled professionals who uphold the highest standards of healthcare.

The Environmental Services Technician position at Osborn Medical Center is a full-time, evening shift role that plays a crucial part in maintaining cleanliness and safety within the hospital environment. This role is fundamental to creating a hygienic and welcoming atmosphere for patients, staff, and visitors. The technician is responsible for performing a broad range of heavy cleaning tasks in patient rooms, offices, hallways, and other designated hospital areas.

The Environmental Services Technician uses specialized floor care equipment and cleaning tools to carry out thorough cleaning and floor refinishing functions in accordance with established protocols. This helps the facility meet quality standards and operational objectives consistently. The role involves handling and disposing of trash and waste materials responsibly, supporting the hospital's waste management programs.

Staff in this role are essential to infection control and patient safety by ensuring that all areas are cleaned to high standards. They inspect equipment regularly and conduct preventative maintenance to keep cleaning tools in optimal condition. The Technician also participates in patient safety rounds and monitors patients for any signs of distress, quickly alerting nursing personnel when clinical intervention may be necessary.

This position offers a new hire sign-on bonus of up to $2,500 and promises a supportive work environment committed to career growth and development. It requires adherence to strict cleaning protocols, including daily and project-based floor care, linen management, waste and medical waste transportation, and patient area sanitization. The Environmental Services Technician works collaboratively with other hospital staff to maintain cleanliness, organize supplies, and contribute to overall facility safety.

Joining the Environmental Services team at HonorHealth means becoming part of an organization that values great people who are dedicated to providing great care. This role is a perfect opportunity for candidates who take pride in their work, have a strong attention to detail, and understand the importance of environmental services within the healthcare setting.
