The Housekeeping Associate at Gold's Gym plays a crucial role in upholding these standards by ensuring all areas of the gym, including the gym floor, locker rooms, offices, and common spaces, are consistently clean, safe, and welcoming. This role is integral to supporting the overall member experience by performing various cleaning duties, maintaining equipment and supplies, and collaborating with other team members and management. The Housekeeping Associate is expected to handle general facility cleaning and maintenance tasks such as cleaning glass doors and mirrors, wiping down gym equipment, emptying trash receptacles, sweeping and mopping floors, and maintaining locker rooms and restrooms at a high level of cleanliness.

Furthermore, this position requires attention to detail in managing cleaning tools and supplies, ensuring everything is kept orderly and functioning correctly. The Housekeeping Associate will also assist with tidying up carpeted areas, reporting maintenance and repair needs promptly, and interacting professionally with both gym staff and members. Ideal candidates should possess basic housekeeping experience, a good sense of teamwork, and the physical capability to perform varied cleaning tasks, including lifting and carrying moderately heavy items. Job Requirements

minimum of three months experience in housekeeping or janitorial services
high school diploma or GED preferred
ability to communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing
ability to lift, push, pull and carry up to 50 pounds
ability to stand and walk for extended periods
frequent bending, kneeling, reaching, twisting, and repetitive motions
use of personal protective equipment as required

Job Qualifications

minimum of three months experience in housekeeping or janitorial services
three months customer service experience preferred
experience in hospitality or health clubs is a plus
high school diploma or GED preferred
ability to communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing
strong organizational, interpersonal, and time-management skills
demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively
must be able to work as part of a professional and cohesive team
ability to lift, push, pull and carry up to 50 pounds
ability to stand and walk for extended periods
frequent bending, kneeling, reaching, twisting, and repetitive motions
ability to push and pull cleaning carts and equipment
exposure to cleaning chemicals, wet or slippery floors, humidity, and locker room environments

Job Duties

clean outside glass and interior mirrors
wipe down equipment, doors, and floors as needed
empty trash receptacles daily
sweep and mop floors, stairwells, and staircases
clean carpets and hard-surface floors as needed
clean fitness equipment thoroughly
clean bathrooms including tiles, tubs, walls, sinks, and mirrors
dust furniture and fixtures daily
clean management offices daily
mop and sweep lobby floors
sweep, mop, remove trash, and dust locker rooms
clean and sanitize restrooms and locker rooms including toilets, urinals, sinks, mirrors, showers, floors
refill soap, paper towels, and toilet paper
clean out lint and maintain general tidiness
buff locker and lobby room floors as needed
maintain and organize cleaning tools such as mops, brooms, and vacuum cleaners
ensure equipment is kept in good condition and stored properly
clean vacuum cleaner bags or canisters daily
stock carts with linens and supplies according to training guidelines
pick up debris on carpets and perform vacuuming as needed
report maintenance or repair issues accurately and promptly
collaborate professionally with gym staff and management
