The Madison Concourse Hotel & Governor's Club, located in the heart of Madison, Wisconsin, is the city's largest convention hotel, welcoming guests from around the world. We are currently seeking a Housekeeping Team Leader to join our dynamic team and support the daily operations of our Housekeeping department. This role is ideal for experienced housekeeping supervisors, inspectors, lead room attendants, or hospitality professionals eager to step into a supervisory position. As a Housekeeping Team Leader, you will play a critical role in maintaining the high cleanliness standards that our guests expect while inspiring and guiding your team to deliver outstanding service. This opportunity offers a competitive starting wage of $20.00 per hour, depending on experience, with a typical schedule from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. during weekdays and some weekend flexibility. Duties include leading and supporting the housekeeping staff, assisting in training and coaching, scheduling, and performance development, as well as ensuring the cleanliness of guest rooms and public areas. You will collaborate closely with the Front Office to prioritize room availability, respond promptly to guest requests, and help oversee departmental functions such as payroll and inventory. This position offers the chance to build leadership skills in a fast-paced hospitality environment while making a meaningful impact on guest satisfaction and operational success. Job Requirements

  • Previous housekeeping experience required
  • hotel experience strongly preferred
  • previous leadership or supervisory experience preferred
  • strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
  • ability to coach, motivate, and support team members
  • comfortable working in a fast-paced environment while balancing multiple priorities
  • ability to work on feet throughout the shift, including lifting, bending, climbing stairs, and stretching
  • flexibility to work weekends and holidays as business demands
  • bilingual skills are a plus
  • able to complete pre-employment drug test, background check, and reference checks

Job Duties

  • Lead and support the housekeeping team throughout the day
  • assist with training, coaching, scheduling, and performance development
  • conduct training and coaching sessions on chemical usage, departmental policies, and the various components of the Hay Adams Standards of Excellence
  • ensure guest rooms and public areas meet hotel cleanliness standards
  • partner with the Front Office to prioritize room availability and guest needs
  • respond promptly to guest requests and resolve concerns professionally
  • assist with payroll, inventory, and departmental organization
  • help oversee daily operations in the absence of the Director of Housekeeping or the Assistant Housekeeping Manager
