Currently, Merete is seeking a Housekeeping Supervisor to join its team. This supervisory role centers around managing the housekeeping staff to maintain clean, orderly, and attractive rooms in a hotel environment. The Housekeeping Supervisor will play a critical role in ensuring the highest level of cleanliness and guest satisfaction by supervising cleaning personnel, assigning duties, inspecting work, and addressing staff training needs. The position involves collaborating closely with the Housekeeping Manager, assisting with budget development, monitoring team performance, and maintaining room quality standards aligned with the hotel's objectives. The supervisor is also responsible for ensuring compliance with company policies, labor laws, and scheduling regulations, including predictive scheduling laws.
In addition to supervising and leading the housekeeping and laundry teams, this role requires hands-on contributions such as making beds, replenishing linens, cleaning guest rooms and public areas, and managing supplies. The position demands a high level of organizational skills to keep work areas tidy and equipment stocked, as well as a keen eye for identifying any maintenance needs or unsafe conditions to report promptly. Candidates for this role must be able to work a flexible schedule, cover shifts on short notice, and maintain punctuality and regular attendance.
Physically, the Housekeeping Supervisor position requires lifting and carrying weights frequently, standing and walking considerable distances, and performing repetitive motions such as bending and stooping. Job Requirements
- Minimum six months' previous housekeeping experience
- May require a valid driver license with an acceptable driving record
- Must pass criminal background check

Job Duties
- Supervise housekeeping and laundry staff
- Apply the company handbook and employment and labor laws in a fair and equitable manner
- Follow predictive scheduling laws and regulations
- Assist the Housekeeping Manager in the development of the department's annual budget
- Monitor performance against plan
- Maintain room quality based on hotel objectives
- Monitor and maintain cleanliness in rooms, storage areas, laundry, restrooms, and public areas
- Make beds, replenish linens, clean rooms, bathrooms, halls, and vacuum
- Load and unload housekeeping carts with supplies
- Replace cleaning supplies
- Report all problems and maintenance needs
- Attend mandatory meetings
- Report any unsafe conditions immediately
- Keep the work area neat and organized
- Complete all other duties as assigned by supervisor including cross training
- Maintain regular and reliable attendance and punctuality
- Treat others with respect and behave in a positive, productive manner encouraging teamwork at all times
