Job Description

The Housekeeping Supervisor role at Cedarfield is a full-time position requiring 40 hours per week, typically scheduled Monday through Friday from 8 am to 4:30 pm, with a rotation that includes every other weekend. This leadership position is essential in maintaining a clean, sanitary, comfortable, and orderly environment across the facility, ensuring high standards of hygiene and infection control. The supervisor provides direct oversight to the housekeeping team, ensuring compliance with Federal, State, and Local Health Department regulations.
In this capacity, the Housekeeping Supervisor is responsible for managing daily housekeeping tasks by assigning duties, monitoring the work performed, and ensuring completion within specified timeframes. The role includes conducting regular inspections to maintain quality workmanship and customer satisfaction, documenting findings, and reporting any facility maintenance requirements. The supervisor also assists with policy development, participates in setting departmental goals, and trains team members on equipment usage, chemical safety, and personal protective equipment. This position requires a proactive individual who supports the well-being and satisfaction of residents and their families through diligent oversight of housekeeping operations.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- 1-3 years of related experience preferred
- Ability to lift 30lbs, push 50lbs, and stand most of the day
- Universal staffing, holiday, inclement weather, and a flexible work schedule are required
Job Qualifications
- Fundamental knowledge of commercial/institutional housekeeping duties
- Strong knowledge and understanding of housekeeping methods and practices used in institutional, hospitality, or commercial environments
- Knowledge of the use and safety requirements of chemicals used in facility cleaning
- Good communication skills to effectively communicate with team
Job Duties
- Supervise the daily work performed by housekeeping personnel within the assigned work area
- Assign tasks to housekeepers according to standard schedules or by priority and assure timely and accurate completion of the work
- Conduct regular and routine inspections of the assigned work area to ensure a clean and sanitary environment, quality workmanship, customer satisfaction, and adherence to policies and procedures
- Maintain daily records of all inspections that include team member assignments and problem resolutions
- Report building and equipment repair needs to the Maintenance Supervisor
- Report to Housekeeping and Laundry Director or their designee all deficiencies beyond the control or capabilities of their assigned team members and assist in planning remedies
- Understand all policies and procedures and communicate them to assigned team members
- Assist the Housekeeping and Laundry Manager in the establishment of policies, procedures, quality standards, and departmental goals
- Supervise the use of equipment and supplies to assure efficient and effective use
- Train team members on the use of chemicals and equipment
- Understand and communicate to team members necessary safety precautions and the use of personal protective equipment
- Perform other related duties as required to ensure the well-being and satisfaction of the Resident Family
