Job Description
The YMCA is currently seeking a dedicated full-time Housekeeping Supervisor to oversee the cleanliness and maintenance of all its facilities. This critical leadership role ensures that every member and visitor experiences a safe, clean, and welcoming environment. The Housekeeping Supervisor will lead daily operations of the housekeeping team with responsibilities that encompass staffing, training, scheduling, compliance, and quality control. Job Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license
- Must have a high school diploma or GED
- Associates Degree preferred
- Minimum of 2 years housekeeping experience
- Minimum of 3 years supervisory or lead experience
- Must be familiar with modern cleaning techniques, products and equipment
- Capable of performing physical tasks for extended periods
- Strong leadership, organizational and problem-solving skills
- Ability to communicate effectively in English and Spanish preferred
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Associates Degree preferred
- Minimum of 2 years housekeeping experience
- Minimum of 3 years experience in a supervisory or lead capacity
- Familiarity with modern cleaning techniques, products, and equipment
- Strong leadership, organizational and problem-solving skills
- Effective communication skills in English
- Spanish language skills preferred
Job Duties
- Oversee the daily operations of the housekeeping staff to ensure all YMCA facilities are maintained in a clean, sanitary, and orderly condition
- Assist with recruiting, interviewing and hiring housekeeping staff
- Create and implement Standard Operating Procedures, daily, weekly and monthly checklists, and cleaning schedules for Housekeeping
- Supervise and train housekeeping staff to meet facility cleanliness standards
- Ensure compliance with safety per Safety Data Sheets, cleaning, and infection control protocols
- Maintain supply inventory and ensure proper use of equipment and materials
- Assign and monitor workloads and ensure timely task completion
- Conduct daily inspections of all assigned areas, including rooms, restrooms, and common areas
- Provide regular coaching, feedback, and performance improvement guidance
- Responsible for finding coverage during employees' absences to ensure all daily tasks are completed at high-level to ensure member satisfaction
- Review and approve employee timecards to ensure accuracy with work schedules in a timely manner
- Respond promptly to housekeeping concerns or complaints
