The Housekeeping Supervisor role at Merete is integral to maintaining the high standards of cleanliness, organization, and guest satisfaction expected at their properties. This position entails supervising the daily activities of housekeeping and laundry staff to ensure that rooms and public areas meet the hotel's quality objectives. The supervisor is responsible for assigning duties, inspecting completed work, and ensuring compliance with company policies, labor laws, and scheduling regulations. Additionally, the role involves assisting the Housekeeping Manager with budgeting, monitoring department performance, and managing supplies and inventory. The Housekeeping Supervisor is expected to foster a positive work environment by encouraging respect, productivity, and teamwork among staff.

This role requires hands-on involvement, such as making beds, replenishing linens, and cleaning various rooms and hallways. The supervisor must also address maintenance needs promptly, ensure safety conditions are met, and maintain neatness in workspaces. Physical requirements include frequent lifting and carrying of moderate weights, sustained standing or walking, and repetitive motions common in housekeeping work. Working conditions may involve exposure to cleaning chemicals, varying temperatures, dust, noise, and the necessity of using protective equipment as per safety protocols.
