The role available is a full-time Housekeeping Supervisor position within the Housekeeping and Laundry department at Courtyard by Marriott Arlington. This non-management position has a pay range of $17.00 to $17.50 per hour and requires open availability, including weekends, to meet the operational demands of the hospitality industry. The primary responsibility involves inspecting guest rooms, public areas, pools, and other spaces after housekeeping services to ensure all quality standards are met, guaranteeing a clean and comfortable environment for guests.

In this leadership role, the Housekeeping Supervisor assists management in coordinating daily operations and is instrumental in maintaining communication among housekeeping, engineering, front office, and laundry teams. The supervisor responsibly runs sold room reports, verifies room status, determines discrepant rooms, prioritizes room cleaning, and updates the status of departing guest rooms to maximize efficiency and readiness. Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • At least 1 year of related work experience
  • At least 1 year of supervisory experience

Job Duties

  • Inspect guest rooms public areas pool etc after being cleaned to ensure quality standards
  • Run sold room reports verify room status determine discrepant rooms prioritize room cleaning and update status of departing guest rooms
  • Assist housekeeping management in managing daily activities
  • Act as a liaison to coordinate efforts of housekeeping engineering front office and laundry
  • Document and resolve issues with discrepant rooms with the front desk
  • Prepare distribute and communicate changes in room assignments
  • Communicate issues to next shift
  • Complete required paperwork
  • Assist management in hiring training scheduling evaluating counseling disciplining motivating and coaching employees
  • Follow company safety and security policies report maintenance problems safety hazards accidents or injuries
  • Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional
  • Maintain confidentiality and protect company assets
  • Welcome and acknowledge guests anticipate and address guest service needs
  • Speak clearly and professionally

  • Move lift carry and place objects up to 55 pounds and push and pull loaded housekeeping carts
  • Reach overhead and below the knees including bending twisting pulling and stooping
  • Stand sit kneel or walk for extended periods
  • Grasp turn and manipulate objects requiring fine motor skills and hand eye coordination
  • Enter and locate work related information using computers or point of sale systems
  • Read and verify information in various formats
  • Perform other reasonable duties as requested by supervisors
