Job Description
Marriott International is a globally recognized leader in the hospitality industry, known for its commitment to exceptional guest service and innovative hotel experiences. Among its diverse portfolio of brands, Courtyard by Marriott is specially designed to serve business travelers with tailored accommodations and services. Situated in Raleigh, North Carolina, the Courtyard location at 1041 Wake Towne Dr embodies Marriott's passion for delivering outstanding customer experiences and fostering a welcoming environment for both guests and employees. This hotel stands out for its dedication to attentive service and a comfortable atmosphere, making it an ideal choice for travelers seeking both convenience and quality.
The role offered is a full-time, non-management position within the Rooms and Guest Services Operations department, designed to support the smooth and efficient functioning of front desk and guest services. This position is vital in managing guest check-ins and check-outs, ensuring the accuracy and completeness of guest information, and providing high levels of customer service with professionalism and courtesy. Working on-site, this position plays a crucial role in upholding Marriott's standards of hospitality and quality.
As a team member in this role, you will complete daily cashier reports and closing logs using the hotel's computer systems, review staff shift logs and daily memo books, and document important information accurately. Handling guest arrivals involves confirming reservations, verifying guest identity, collecting payment methods, allocating rooms, and issuing room keys. You will also assist walk-in guests by selling available rooms according to market standards, ensuring rate compliance and proper documentation of rate exceptions. An important aspect of this role involves liaising with other hotel departments such as bell services and housekeeping to address guest requests, calls, or concerns promptly.
Additionally, this position supports management by assisting with staff training, evaluation, motivation, and coaching, serving as a key point of contact for fair treatment guarantees and open door policies. Maintaining a safe working environment is a priority, including reporting accidents or unsafe conditions and completing safety training and certifications. Adherence to company policies and procedures is expected, with a focus on maintaining professional appearance and confidentiality of proprietary information.
Guest interaction is at the heart of this role, requiring you to greet each guest according to company standards, anticipate and fulfill their service needs, assist guests with disabilities, and communicate clearly and professionally. The job demands physical stamina, including standing, sitting, or walking for prolonged periods, and the ability to lift or move objects weighing up to 25 pounds. This role occasionally involves other reasonable duties as assigned by supervisors, fostering a dynamic and supportive work environment.
Courtyard and Marriott International are dedicated to creating an inclusive workplace where diversity is celebrated and all associates feel welcome and valued. They promote equal employment opportunities without discrimination based on disability, veteran status, or any other protected characteristics. By joining Courtyard at Marriott, you become part of a global community committed to personal and professional growth and to delivering memorable guest experiences. This position offers a stable wage of $17.00 per hour and an opportunity to work within a collaborative and purpose-driven team that values continuous learning and excellence in service.
