Located at Fairfield Inn Visalia, 140 South Akers Street, Visalia, CA 93291, this role highlights the position of Housekeeping Supervisor. This hourly role is instrumental in ensuring the quality and efficiency of housekeeping functions within assigned sections of the hotel. As a critical member of the housekeeping team, the supervisor is charged with the daily inspection of Room Attendants’ work performance, ensuring adherence to established high standards and productivity goals. The role also involves significant responsibility, including stepping in for the Housekeeping Manager or Assistant Manager when necessary, with duties like inspecting VIP rooms and confirming their availability to the Front Office.
The Housekeeping Supervisor oversees closing procedures at the end of each day, guaranteeing that Room Attendants’ carts are clean and fully stocked. Attendance to administrative tasks such as maintaining daily assignment records and key control is essential. The supervisor also manages the Lost and Found process, monitors cleanliness and organization within linen closets, control closets, stairways, and other critical areas, and ensures that all housekeeping staff have assigned work duties. The position requires constant communication, facilitated via pager or radio, maintaining contact with the Front Office and Engineering teams through each shift.
In addition, the Housekeeping Supervisor is tasked with reporting on the status of out-of-order rooms to the Guest Services Manager, initiating and following up on work orders for repairs, assisting in staff training, and possibly engaging in room cleaning activities when business needs demand. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- two to three years progressive experience in a hotel or related field preferred
- previous supervisory responsibility preferred
- ability to stand during entire shift
- effective communication skills with employees and guests in a friendly and service oriented manner

Job Duties
- Inspect Room Attendants’ work performance daily to ensure standards and productivity
- Inspect VIP rooms and report their availability to the Front Office in absence of management
- Oversee floor closing procedures and ensure carts are clean and restocked
- Maintain records of daily assignments and submit timely
- Maintain key control
- Handle Lost and Found items according to standards
- Monitor cleanliness and orderliness of carts, linen closets, control closets, stairways and landings
- Assign daily duties to Room Attendants and House Attendants
- Maintain communication with Front Office and Engineering using pager or radio
- Report progress of out-of-order rooms to Guest Services Manager
- Initiate and follow up on work orders for repairs
- Assist in training housekeeping staff
- Clean rooms as needed
- Ensure completion of cleaning projects biannually
- Ensure overall guest satisfaction
