The Housekeeping Supervisor role is a key leadership position within the hotel’s Housekeeping Department. The supervisor is responsible for managing the daily operations of the housekeeping and laundry teams in a safe, efficient, and cost-effective manner. This role ensures that the hotel maintains the highest standards of cleanliness and guest satisfaction while protecting the hotel’s assets. Supervising the cleaning of guest rooms and public areas, coordinating staffing based on occupancy forecasts, and assuming housekeeping duties when needed are fundamental aspects of this position. The supervisor also oversees special cleaning programs and maintains accurate inventories for supplies and equipment. Collaboration with the maintenance and front-of-house management teams ensures smooth communication and operational harmony. In addition to managing staff and scheduling, the supervisor is responsible for monitoring customer feedback, resolving issues, and guiding the team with a focus on exemplary customer service.

Job Requirements

- Experience in housekeeping or hospitality preferred

Job Duties
- Ensures guest satisfaction by supervising daily cleaning of hotel and grounds according to operational policies and standards
- Schedules associates in accordance with forecasted occupancy
- adjusts staffing as necessary for sudden changes in occupancy
- Plan, assign, and supervise daily activities of housekeeping and laundry staff
- Assume the role of housekeeper, laundry person, or house person as needed
- Conduct continual inspections to determine hotel's cleanliness and condition
- performs follow-up
- Schedule and supervise all rotational and special cleaning programs
- Ensure the team has the tools and equipment necessary
- Work in conjunction with maintenance for work orders and preventative maintenance
- Manage lost and found
- Coordinate room availability with front of house management
- Keep accurate and current records, logs, parts list, manuals, and reference books
- Monitor responses on customer comment cards
- identify problem areas and formulate solutions
- Maintain proper inventory levels managing cost per room for supplies and labor
- perform monthly inventory
