The Housekeeping Supervisor role at Residence Inn Cincinnati Downtown - The Phelps is a vital position within the hotel's operational team. This role focuses on maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and guest satisfaction, which are key elements in encouraging repeat visits and favorable recommendations to others. The Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing the daily cleanliness operations of guest rooms and public spaces, ensuring that all areas meet the stringent quality standards set by the hotel and Pyramid Global Hospitality. Responsibilities include inspecting rooms, training new housekeeping team members, motivating staff to deliver superior service, and assisting with administrative tasks to support the Executive Housekeeper. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and possesses strong leadership skills to effectively manage workflow and staff duties throughout each shift. In addition to operational oversight, the Supervisor will collaborate closely with the Front Desk to coordinate activities that enhance the overall guest experience. Practical responsibilities also include inventory management of linen and cleaning supplies, performing performance evaluations, addressing maintenance issues, and ensuring safe handling of cleaning chemicals. This role requires physical stamina, the ability to communicate effectively, and a caring approach that fosters a positive work environment for all housekeeping staff. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 6 months experience in housekeeping or similar role
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
  • Effective communication skills
  • Ability to read and understand instructions
  • Physical ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds
  • Ability to safely handle cleaning chemicals
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to supervise and train staff
  • Time management skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays

  • 6 months experience in a similar housekeeping position desirable

  • Ability to move, traverse, position self to reach corners on floors and high places
  • Observe conditions

  • Operate equipment including spray bottles, vacuums, mops, brooms, dust pans, scrub pads and dusters
  • Lift, carry and position loads of at least 25lbs

Job Duties

  • Engage with guests to ensure their stay is going well
  • Work as a team to accomplish the goal of resort/hotel cleanliness
  • Coordinates the day’s work flow and distribution of duties
  • Inspect guest rooms following highest quality standards
  • Hold department employees accountable for the highest quality standards
  • Supervise and train staff to ensure that standards of cleanliness are maintained
  • Assists with performing inventory of linen and supplies
