The role of Housekeeping Supervisor at the Fairfield Inn Vacaville is centered on maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and operational efficiency within the hotel. This position involves overseeing housekeeping operations in designated sections of the property, ensuring that all areas meet the company’s quality standards. The supervisor inspects the performance of room attendants on a daily basis, verifies the readiness of V.I.P rooms in the absence of the Housekeeping Manager, and manages daily floor closing procedures including restocking and cleaning of attendants' carts. Other responsibilities include maintaining accurate records of daily assignments, ensuring strict key control, handling lost and found items according to policy, and monitoring cleanliness of supply and storage areas. This role requires coordination with other hotel departments such as Front Office and Engineering, via radio or pager communication, to facilitate seamless service and timely maintenance operations. The Housekeeping Supervisor also assists in training staff, manages work orders for repairs, and occasionally participates in the cleaning duties when necessary. Job Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
Two to three years progressive hotel or related field experience preferred
Previous supervisory experience preferred
Ability to stand for entire shift

Job Duties

Inspect Room Attendant’s work performance within assigned section daily to ensure standards and productivity levels
In the absence of Housekeeping Manager or Assistant Manager, inspect all V.I.P. rooms and report availability to Front Office according to hotel standards
Oversee the closing of floors at end of day, ensuring Room Attendants’ carts are clean and restocked
Ensure records of daily assignments are completed, signed off and turned into Housekeeping Office on time
Maintain key control
Handle items for Lost and Found according to standards
Monitor cleanliness and orderliness of Room Attendants’ carts, linen closets, control closets, stairways and landings
Oversee daily assignment of duties, ensuring Room Attendants and House Attendants carry work assignments
Carry active pager/radio to maintain contact with Front Office and/or Engineering throughout shift
Report on progress of all out-of-order rooms under Housekeeping Department’s supervision to Guest Services Manager
Initiate work orders for repairs and maintenance and forward to Engineering, following through until completion
Assist with training of Housekeeping staff
May be required to clean rooms as business needs dictate
Ensure completion of cleaning projects on a biannual basis
Ensure overall guest satisfaction
