This full-time Housekeeping Inspector role is a vital non-management position essential to ensuring the hotel's cleanliness and standards of quality. The position offers a competitive hourly wage ranging from $17.00 to $17.50. The selected candidate will primarily be responsible for inspecting guest rooms, public areas, and other facilities like the pool after the rooms have been cleaned by housekeepers. This inspection process ensures that the quality standards and cleanliness protocols are thoroughly met. Additionally, the role includes preparing room availability reports, verifying the status of rooms, prioritizing cleaning assignments, and updating room statuses following guest departures.
The Housekeeping Inspector acts as a key liaison coordinating efforts between the Housekeeping Department, Engineering, Front Desk, and Laundry departments. This position also entails documenting and resolving discrepancies in room availability, preparing and distributing updated task assignments, and effectively communicating any changes or issues to the next shift. Apart from operational duties, the Housekeeping Inspector assists management with employee-related functions such as recruitment, training, scheduling, evaluations, counseling, discipline, motivation, and employee coaching.
Safety is a paramount aspect of the role, requiring strict adherence to company policies, reporting maintenance or safety hazards, and completing safety certifications. The position demands professionalism in appearance and personal conduct while maintaining confidentiality of company information. The Housekeeping Inspector supports a respectful and collaborative work environment and is expected to move efficiently to respond to work situations. Physical aspects of the job include handling and inspecting equipment, operating maintenance carts, and performing tasks requiring dexterity, mobility, and manual coordination, sometimes involving lifting or moving objects up to 55 pounds or more with assistance.
To be successful in this role, candidates generally need a high school diploma or equivalent GED, at least one year of related work experience, and preferably supervisory experience. Job Requirements
