The position available at TownePlace Suites is a Part-Time Rooms and Guest Services Operations role, classified as Non-Management. This role is crucial for ensuring smooth front desk operations and effective handling of guest services. The job involves managing guest check-ins and check-outs, verifying and confirming reservations, and handling guest requests or issues by coordinating with various hotel departments such as housekeeping and bell services. The employee will be responsible for completing designated cashier reports and closing reports through the hotel’s computer system, maintaining accurate daily logs and shift records, and documenting relevant information properly.
In this role, the employee must also process guest accounts, ensure proper application of room rates and exceptions, and facilitate internal postings for charges from different service points like the gym and retail areas. The individual will assist management with training, evaluating, counseling, and motivating staff, and serve as a positive example and first contact for company policies related to fair treatment and open-door communication. The position also demands attentiveness to safety protocols, reporting unsafe conditions, and maintaining professional appearance and confidentiality at all times.
Interpersonal skills are vital, as the role requires greeting and anticipating guests’ needs, providing genuine appreciation, and ensuring accessibility for guests with disabilities. Communication must be clear and professional, both in person and over the phone, adhering to set protocols. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- At least 1 year of related work experience
- Ability to handle guest inquiries and resolve issues efficiently
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with reservation systems
- Good communication skills
- Ability to stand or walk for extended periods
- Ability to lift or move objects weighing up to 25 pounds
- Availability to work part-time hours including nights and weekends

Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent GED

- Experience in guest services or hospitality preferred

Job Duties
- Complete designated cashier and closing reports in the computer system
- Review employee shift logs and daily memo books and document pertinent information
- Contact appropriate persons or departments such as bell staff and housekeeping to resolve guest calls, requests, or issues
- Process all guest check-ins by confirming reservations, verifying identity, requesting payment, assigning rooms, and activating room keys
- Sell rooms or accommodations to walk-in guests according to availability and ensure rates comply with market standards
- Ensure accounts from various point-of-sale locations are scanned and posted to guest room accounts
- Assist management with training, evaluation, counseling, discipline, motivation, and coaching of employees and serve as role model for fair treatment and open-door policy
- Report accidents, injuries, and unsafe working conditions
- conduct safety training and obtain safety certifications
- Adhere to company policies and procedures, maintain professional appearance and confidentiality, and protect company assets
- Greet and recognize all guests according to company standards, anticipate and meet service needs, assist guests with disabilities, and communicate clearly and professionally
- Maintain positive working relationships with coworkers and uphold quality expectations and standards
- Stand, sit, or walk for prolonged periods and move, lift, push, drag, or place objects weighing 25 pounds or less
