The Housekeeping Supervisor reports directly to the Executive Housekeeper and operates within a non-exempt, hourly position, contributing to the daily cleanliness and overall management of the housekeeping team. This role is vital for coordinating the cleaning of guest rooms and all public areas, guaranteeing that all spaces meet the company’s stringent cleanliness standards. The supervisor is tasked with managing the housekeeping staff, including room attendants and housemen, ensuring that daily tasks are completed efficiently and effectively. Additionally, the role involves overseeing the opening and closing of the housekeeping department, assigning duties, and preparing reports vital for the smooth operation of the department.

The Housekeeping Supervisor will also be responsible for maintaining open communication with the Maintenance department to promptly address and resolve any issues. As the face of the housekeeping department, the supervisor must handle all interactions with professionalism, ensuring a friendly, service-oriented approach in dealings with both guests and staff members. The supervisor will also assist with inventory management for linen supplies and maintain comprehensive cleaning logs to uphold hotel protocols.

Job Requirements
- Minimum two years housekeeping supervisory or leadership role or related job experience
- HS diploma or equivalent
- comprehension of English language
- must be able to convey and relay ideas and information clearly and efficiently
- basic PC knowledge and understanding of a Windows operating system
- ability to be trained on the hotels property management system
- may be required to move, lift, or push 50 pounds frequently or consistently
- standing, walking or bending is required the majority of the shift
- must be able work well with others in a team environment
- must be able to work in a supervised atmosphere, accept and understand coaching, counseling, instructions and/or feedback
- neat and professional appearance is required
- name tags and uniforms are required to be worn at all times

Job Duties
- Open and close the housekeeping department as needed
- prepare room assignment reports for room attendants
- assign houseman their daily duties
- overall management of all employees assigned to the department
- create good working relationships and teamwork with all other departments
- collect all room assignment reports and keys at the end of the day
- make sure all floors are secure
- ensure all staff has the proper tools to complete their duties
- stay in constant communication with the Maintenance department to ensure all problems are corrected
- make sure all standards are enforced in rooms and public areas for safety
- check rooms daily to ensure all standards are achieved
- help supervise the re-supplying of all linen closets
- record all lost and found items
- coordinate and communicate any follow-up items or problems to ensure guest satisfaction
- help maintain all department cleaning logs as per hotel standards
- handle all interactions with hotel employees and/or guests in a friendly, professional, service oriented manner
- comply with hotel and brand standards to ensure the safety of all guests and employees
- report to supervisor all maintenance equipment issues
- report to supervisor any health, safety, or hazard issues
- other duties and responsibilities as may be designated
