We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Housekeeping Supervisor to join our dynamic team. This role is essential in maintaining the cleanliness and overall presentation of our hotel, directly impacting guest satisfaction. The Housekeeping Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the housekeeping team, ensuring all guest rooms and public areas meet the company's established standards. This position requires strong leadership skills, effective communication, and a dedication to training and supporting staff members to achieve their best potential.

In this role, the Housekeeping Supervisor will prepare staff schedules and manage work distribution reports, making sure every section is attended to properly. The supervisor will conduct thorough daily inspections of guest rooms and public spaces, guaranteeing cleanliness and readiness for incoming guests. Additionally, the role involves training new associates and providing ongoing development opportunities for current team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.

The supervisor will be vigilant in checking for early make-ups, special requests, VIP guests, and making sure all requirements are met to exceed guest expectations. Keeping meticulous records for lost and found items is another critical responsibility, ensuring guest belongings are handled respectfully and efficiently. Preparing and reviewing departure reports to confirm room readiness is part of the daily routine, along with documenting work orders for repairs and promptly reporting any safety hazards or security concerns such as broken door locks.

This position demands a high work ethic, self-initiative, and the flexibility to work varied schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays, with weekends being mandatory. Physical stamina is essential, as the job requires standing for extended periods, sometimes up to 10 hours a day, and the ability to push or pull weights up to 75 pounds. Effective verbal and written communication skills are required to coordinate workloads, train staff, and communicate with management and guests.

Job Requirements

  • High work ethic and self-initiative
  • May be required to work varying schedules to include nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Weekends are a must

  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing

  • Ability to hear and participate in conversations and meetings, use phone and/or radio

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prior housekeeping or hospitality supervision experience preferred
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to train and develop staff
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on cleanliness and safety
  • Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays

Job Duties

  • Prepare schedules for the staff and complete the work distribution report, ensuring all sections are covered
  • Thoroughly inspect guest rooms and public areas daily to ensure they are cleaned according to company standards
  • Train and supervise all new associates and provide on-going training for current staff
  • Check for early make-ups, special requests and VIPs
  • Maintain proper written records for lost and found
  • Run a departure report and recheck all rooms showing up in your assigned section
  • Write up work orders for all repairs and immediately report any broken door locks or safety hazards to management for immediate attention
