The Housekeeping Supervisor role at Sonesta International Hotels is a critical position working closely with the Housekeeping Manager to oversee the housekeeping and laundry functions within the hotel. The primary goal of this role is to ensure that all cleaning operations meet the company’s high standards for product quality and guest satisfaction, aligned with the brand’s objectives. This position involves supervising housekeeping staff, inspecting guest rooms and public areas, and assisting in training and scheduling to maintain efficiency and quality. Additionally, the Housekeeping Supervisor may directly perform cleaning duties, guaranteeing guest rooms and common spaces are impeccable and ready for occupancy according to Sonesta’s established timing and standards.

In this supervisory capacity, the individual will play an essential role in recruiting, developing, managing, and monitoring the housekeeping team’s performance, providing guidance, retraining when necessary, and recommending disciplinary actions in coordination with management policies. The incumbent is also responsible for managing inventory and ensuring that linen and room supplies are adequately stocked and maintained. Attention to detail and a passion for fostering a positive and cooperative work environment are vital, as the Supervisor must communicate effectively across shifts and departments while promoting teamwork and compliance with health and safety regulations.

This role requires flexibility, open availability including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays, as well as the physical capability to perform housekeeping duties and manage commercial cleaning agents safely. Candidates with previous supervisory experience in housekeeping, particularly within the extended stay hotel industry, and bilingual abilities are especially valued. Job Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
Two years housekeeping experience including supervisory training
Ability to speak, read, and write fluently in English
Capable of frequently standing, bending, climbing, kneeling, and moving about the facility
Ability to safely use commercial cleaning chemicals
Capable of carrying, lifting, or pulling items up to 50 pounds
Willingness to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
Open availability
Bilingual is a plus
Team oriented and self-driven
Prior housekeeping supervisor or management experience

Job Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent
Two years housekeeping experience including some supervisory training
Previous background in extended stay industry preferred
Ability to speak, read, and write fluently in English
Other languages beneficial
Reading and writing abilities required for documentation and ordering supplies
Mathematical skills including basic math, budgeting, profit/loss concepts, percentages, and variances
Problem solving, reasoning, motivating, organizational, and training abilities
Experience with Microsoft Office preferred
Team oriented and self-driven
Prior housekeeping supervisor or management experience

Job Duties

Deliver on the promise of Sonesta Service in interactions with guests and clients
Manage according to Sonesta G.U.E.S.T. standards and instill passion for customer service in hotel associates
Partner with the Housekeeping Manager to recruit, develop, manage, and monitor performance
Inspect assigned suites and public areas to ensure cleanliness and repair standards are met
Advise employees of deficiencies and provide retraining as needed
Assist with training employees and ensure availability of necessary tools and equipment
Assist with scheduling and room cleaning assignments
Perform housekeeping duties including cleaning guest suites and public areas
Partner to inventory and maintain par levels for linen and room supplies
Monitor commercial laundry supplies and equipment
Manage process of lost and found items
Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication with other shifts and management
Ensure compliance with health and safety laws
Perform other duties as assigned
