The role of the Housekeeping Supervisor at HHM is critical in ensuring the smooth operation of housekeeping services while upholding the brand's service and sustainability standards. This position involves supervising housekeeping staff, including training, scheduling, coaching, and supporting associates to maintain consistent and high-quality cleaning standards aligned with HHM's core values. The Housekeeping Supervisor plays an integral role in fostering a collaborative team environment and ensuring guest satisfaction by maintaining clean and orderly accommodations.
In this role, the supervisor also has responsibilities related to staff hiring, orientation, and performance management, particularly when staff are HHM employees. Additionally, the Housekeeping Supervisor ensures that housekeeping associates are properly trained either directly or through partnerships with external vendors. A significant aspect of the job includes monitoring guest service scores to drive continuous improvement and adjusting staffing levels based on anticipated occupancy.
Beyond overseeing daily housekeeping operations, this leadership position requires involvement in sustainability initiatives by adhering to HHM’s EarthView program guidelines to practice environmentally conscious housekeeping. The role also emphasizes safety compliance by following OSHA standards and promoting the use of protective equipment.
Other duties include managing cleaning supplies issuance, occasionally assisting in room cleaning, supervising laundry employees if applicable, and supporting breakfast area operations when necessary. Job Duties
- Train, schedule, coach and support associates ensuring they perform to brand or hotel standards
- Screen job applicants and hire new employees when applicable
- Train staff to clean rooms efficiently according to standards or partner with vendors for training
- Monitor and communicate guest service scores to improve satisfaction
- Issue cleaning supplies and equipment to associates
- Occasionally clean rooms or assist staff with cleaning
- Address associate performance and behavior concerns directly or through vendors
- Supervise laundry employees if applicable
- Prepare work schedules or provide vendors with occupancy forecasts
- Follow sustainability guidelines per EarthView program
- Practice safe work habits and wear protective equipment
- Assist in the breakfast area as needed
- Ensure overall guest satisfaction
- Perform other duties as requested by management
