The role available at Courtyard by Marriott New Orleans French Quarter is a Full-Time Non-Management position within the Housekeeping and Laundry department. This position is critical in ensuring that the hotel environment remains clean, safe, and welcoming for all guests. The primary responsibility includes inspecting guest rooms, public areas, and facilities like the pool after they have been cleaned by housekeepers to verify that quality standards are met. The role also involves running sold room reports, verifying room status, addressing discrepancies, and prioritizing room cleaning to maintain operational efficiency. Coordination with various departments such as Engineering, Front Office, and Laundry is essential to manage room assignments and resolve issues promptly.

Beyond inspection duties, the position plays a supportive role in assisting Housekeeping management with daily activities including hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, motivating, and coaching employees. The role demands adherence to company safety and security policies, reporting maintenance problems or hazards, and ensuring all safety training and certifications are completed. Professionalism in appearance and conduct, confidentiality, and asset protection are foundational expectations.

The position requires physical stamina and the ability to perform tasks such as moving, lifting, pushing, and pulling objects and equipment, sometimes over uneven surfaces. Candidates must have the ability to bend, twist, stoop, and stand or walk for extended periods while maintaining fine motor skills necessary for handling tasks involving detailed work and equipment operation.

Job Requirements

Job Duties

  • Inspect guest rooms, public areas, and pool after cleaning to ensure quality standards
  • Run sold room reports and verify room status
  • Determine and address discrepant rooms
  • Prioritize and update status of room cleaning
  • Assist housekeeping management with daily activities
  • Coordinate efforts between housekeeping, engineering, front office, and laundry departments
  • Document and resolve issues with discrepant rooms
  • Communicate room assignment changes and issues to next shift
  • Complete required paperwork
  • Support hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, motivating, and coaching employees
  • Follow company safety and security policies
