Job Description

The Westin Pittsburgh, located at 1000 Penn Ave in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, is a distinguished hotel within the Marriott International family, known for its commitment to exceptional guest service and wellness-focused hospitality. As part of Marriott International, the Westin brand emphasizes a holistic approach to wellness, aiming to empower guests to enhance their well-being while traveling. The hotel prides itself on fostering a diverse, inclusive work environment where associates' unique backgrounds, talents, and experiences are highly valued and celebrated. This environment promotes growth and equality, ensuring fair treatment and opportunities for all team members regardless of disability, veteran status, or other legally protected characteristics.

The Westin Pittsburgh is currently seeking a full-time Housekeeping Supervisor to join our dedicated team. This non-management position offers a competitive hourly wage of $23.00 and requires open availability with flexible shifts to meet the dynamic needs of the hotel. The Housekeeping Supervisor plays a vital role in maintaining the high standards of cleanliness and guest satisfaction throughout the hotel. This role requires close collaboration with various departments including Housekeeping, Engineering, Front Office, and Laundry to ensure seamless operations.

In this role, the Housekeeping Supervisor is responsible for inspecting guest rooms, public areas, and amenities such as the pool after cleaning, verifying the quality and adherence to established standards. You will run sold room reports, verify room statuses, and identify any discrepancies to prioritize room cleaning efficiently. Communication is key as you will coordinate and update room assignments, document and resolve issues with the Front Desk, and prepare necessary paperwork while ensuring smooth information flow between shifts.

Beyond operational duties, this role supports management in critical human resource functions including hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, and coaching employees. Maintaining safety and security is paramount, with responsibilities to report maintenance problems, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries, and comply with all company policies and safety training. The role demands professionalism in appearance, strict adherence to confidentiality, and dedication to protecting company assets.

The ideal candidate is someone who embodies Westin's brand values—passionate, active, optimistic, and adventurous—being invested in their own well-being and wellness practices. Physical endurance is necessary as the position involves moving and lifting objects up to 55 pounds, pushing loaded carts, and performing activities such as bending, twisting, standing, and walking for extended periods. Competency in computer use for accessing work-related information and point-of-sale systems is also required.

At Westin Pittsburgh, we believe in creating a positive working environment where employees feel welcomed, appreciated, and empowered to be the best version of themselves. If you share a passion for hospitality excellence and wellness, and enjoy working as part of a proactive, team-oriented organization, this position offers an excellent opportunity to advance your career in the dynamic hospitality industry.
