The Hotel Roanoke & Conference Center is currently seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Housekeeping Supervisor. The role is designed for a leader who will oversee daily housekeeping operations to uphold the hotel’s high standards of cleanliness and guest satisfaction. The Housekeeping Supervisor will lead a team responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of guest rooms, public areas, and essential behind-the-scenes spaces, ensuring that the hotel environment remains welcoming and pristine. This position not only focuses on operational excellence but also involves mentoring and motivating team members, coordinating workflows, inspecting rooms for quality, and collaborating closely with other departments such as the Front Desk. The position demands a hands-on leadership approach where the supervisor sets an example, ensures accountability, and inspires pride and professionalism within the housekeeping team.
The schedule for the Housekeeping Supervisor role is from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with availability required on weekends and holidays. The position offers a competitive salary range of $18.00 to $19.50 per hour. Job Requirements
- Ability to stand and work on your feet for extended periods
- Ability to bend, twist, lift, and move throughout the shift
- Lift, carry, and position items weighing 25-30 lbs
- Push, pull, and navigate carts weighing up to 100 lbs
- Operate housekeeping equipment such as vacuums, mops, brooms, and spray bottles
- Ability to reach high and low spaces, observe conditions, and detect odors
Job Qualifications
- 6 months of experience in a similar housekeeping role preferred
- Engaging, caring, and professional leadership style
- Strong attention to detail and time management skills
- Excellent verbal communication skills
- Ability to read room numbers, dates, and basic instructions
Job Duties
- Provide leadership and direction for all housekeeping and laundry activities
- Coordinate daily workflow, assign rooms and duties, and adjust staffing as needed
- Inspect guest rooms and public areas to ensure top-quality cleanliness standards
- Train, onboard, motivate, coach, and hold team members accountable
- Maintain a regularly scheduled cleaning program
- Ensure guest and management requests are handled promptly, efficiently, and with a friendly attitude
- Collaborate with Front Desk and other departments to enhance overall guest satisfaction
- Assist with linen and supply inventory and ensure proper usage
- Report maintenance needs and ensure safe handling of cleaning chemicals
- Assist with performance evaluations
- Find coverage for call-outs or increased occupancy
- Perform other related duties as assigned by management
