The opportunity as the Supervisor for Lake County Housekeeping within Abbott’s GES Global Engineering Services Division is based in Abbott Park, IL. This role oversees the management and operational leadership of 10 to 20 housekeeping employees, including direct supervision of group leaders. The position requires planning, organizing, staffing, training, and directing housekeeping activities to maintain high standards of cleanliness and compliance in a pharmaceutical and diagnostic manufacturing environment. The Supervisor must develop and enforce policies and procedures aligned with Abbott’s corporate objectives and customer division needs. This includes ensuring compliance with rigorous regulatory requirements such as FDA, GMP, OSHA, INTC, ALAC, and ISO standards necessary for safe manufacturing processes. The incumbent will also act as a subject matter expert on specialized topics like radioactive area cleaning, biohazard level protocols, and hazardous waste disposal, while maintaining expertise in aseptic cleaning and contamination control techniques. A key part of the role involves continuous learning and implementation of the latest housekeeping technologies, equipment, and procedures.

This role demands strong leadership skills to mentor and guide a diverse team while balancing urgent operational requirements from internal customers. The Supervisor will occasionally take on additional responsibilities, such as acting as a team leader on special projects or serving as a temporary backup to management. Abbott offers competitive compensation for this position, with a base salary range of $61,300 to $122,700, dependent on location and experience, alongside benefits that support health, wellness, education, and financial security. This position involves some light travel (approximately 5% of the time) and requires the ability to perform physically demanding tasks such as prolonged standing, walking, lifting, and working in challenging environments.

Joining Abbott as a Housekeeping Supervisor provides an exceptional opportunity to advance your career within a globally respected healthcare leader committed to innovation, quality, and employee development.
