The Housekeeping Staff is entrusted with the responsibility to maintain the cleanliness of the building through meticulous sanitization, dusting, and cleaning activities. This role involves comprehensive cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, vacuuming, and wiping various surfaces. Maintaining hygiene by disinfecting restrooms, staff kitchens, and dining areas is also a pivotal part of the role. The staff member must pay close attention to detail to make sure that windows and mirrors are spotless, waste is disposed of properly, and cleaning supplies are replenished as necessary. The housekeeping professional must also keep accurate cleaning logs to document the work completed and identify any areas requiring maintenance or attention.
This position requires a strong commitment to adhering to health and safety regulations to provide a secure working environment. The Housekeeping Staff must be capable of reporting unsafe conditions promptly to supervisors and participate in special projects or tasks as assigned, displaying flexibility and teamwork. The role demands physical endurance, including standing for prolonged periods, walking, and performing tasks that require lifting and carrying items weighing up to 25 pounds. The ability to operate standard janitorial equipment efficiently is also essential.
Excellent communication skills are required since the staff member will need to read, write, understand, and speak English to follow instructions and communicate effectively within the team and the broader facility community. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Ability to read write speak understand and communicate in English
- Ability to observe safety and security procedures and comply with policies
- Ability to follow schedules and keep commitments
- Able to manage time efficiently and work individually or within a team
- Physical ability to stand walk frequently pull push and bend
- Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds
- Ability to operate power equipment normally found in janitorial operations

Job Duties
- Conduct comprehensive cleaning of the facility including sweeping mopping scrubbing and vacuuming all floor surfaces
- Sanitize and disinfect surfaces to maintain a hygienic environment
- Clean windows and mirrors to ensure clarity and cleanliness
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in restrooms by disinfecting and ensuring supplies are adequately stocked
- Clean and disinfect staff kitchens and dining areas to promote a safe eating environment
- Dust and wipe surfaces to uphold cleanliness standards
- Collect and dispose of waste from trash containers efficiently
- Maintain a cleaning log to document areas that have been cleaned and inspected
- Replenish cleaning and maintenance supplies as necessary
- Organize and manage janitorial storage areas for optimal efficiency
- Report any unsafe conditions or the need for repairs or maintenance to supervisors promptly
- Execute cleansing tasks and special projects as assigned
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations to ensure a safe working environment
- Perform additional related duties as required
