The role of Housekeeping Specialist at The Post Oak Hotel is integral to maintaining the high standards of cleanliness and comfort that define the hotel’s reputation. This position is responsible for ensuring that all guest rooms, hallways, bathrooms, and public spaces are immaculate and inviting, contributing to the overall guest experience. The Housekeeping Specialist not only cleans but also attends to guest requests, handles the setup of furniture items, and efficiently manages the removal and disposal of debris and other items from guest areas. Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • minimum of 1 year related customer service or cleaning experience
  • strong attention to detail
  • excellent communication skills
  • ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • physical ability to perform job duties including lifting, bending and pushing
  • willingness to adhere to hotel policies and standards

Job Qualifications

  • 1 year of previous customer service or cleaning experience
  • knowledge in and or experience with forbes 4/5 star service standards is preferred
  • ability to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends and holidays is required
  • physical ability to move, lift, carry, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 55 pounds without assistance and in excess of 55 pounds with assistance
  • ability to push and pull a loaded housekeeping cart and other work-related equipment over sloping and uneven surfaces
  • ability to reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling and stooping

Job Duties

  • maintain the guest corridors in an immaculate condition and with a fresh impression
  • deliver guest requests and set up furniture items in guest rooms as requested
  • remove items from hallways and transport to designated areas including debris, room service food and beverage trays, unread newspapers, soiled linens, and trash
  • mop and vacuum all the guest corridors
  • wipe down and dust all the walls, light sconces, glass surfaces and fixtures in the guest corridors
  • empty trash from the trash cans in the guest corridors
