Job Description
Marriott International is a globally recognized leader in the hospitality industry, renowned for its commitment to quality service and guest satisfaction. Housing a diverse portfolio of hotels and brands, Marriott has been a pioneer in setting high standards for hospitality and customer experience worldwide. Located in the heart of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, the Westin at 1000 Penn Avenue is part of this prestigious group, dedicated to delivering premium accommodations infused with wellness-focused amenities. This bustling hotel serves a broad spectrum of guests, ranging from business travelers to vacationing families, promoting a culture of inclusivity and excellence.
The Westin is actively seeking a dedicated Full-Time Housekeeping Supervisor to join their team. This non-management role plays a pivotal part in maintaining the pristine condition and overall presentation of guest rooms and public areas, ensuring that cleanliness and upkeep meet Marriott’s renowned standards. The role requires a proactive individual who is comfortable managing operational tasks such as room status updates, cleanliness checklists, and paperwork essential to the smooth functioning of the Housekeeping department.
As a Housekeeping Supervisor, you will lead by example, acting as a role model to staff by assisting in hiring, training, and motivating employees. You will serve as a vital link between management and housekeeping teams, fostering a positive work environment that promotes teamwork and high standards of cleanliness and safety. Handling the inspection of guest rooms post-cleaning is a critical function, ensuring that every room is impeccably prepared for guests' arrival.
The position demands strong communication skills to promptly address guest and interdepartmental requests. You will be expected to adhere strictly to safety, security, and company policies, including reporting maintenance issues and safety hazards. Physical demands are significant and include the ability to lift and move heavy objects, operate housekeeping carts over varied terrains, and remain active for extended periods during shifts.
This role is ideal for candidates who have at least one year of related housekeeping experience, complemented by a high school diploma or GED equivalent. While the role does not require supervisory experience, the candidate must exhibit leadership potential and the willingness to support the team’s cohesion and effectiveness.
Westin’s commitment to employee wellness means that associates are encouraged to maintain their well-being and bring their best selves to work each day. The company fosters an inclusive culture where diversity is celebrated, and all associates are empowered to grow professionally and personally. Pay for this position ranges from $20.50 to $21.00 per hour, reflecting a competitive wage scale for hospitality roles in the Pittsburgh area.
Joining Westin means becoming part of a global team that values excellence, diversity, and personal growth. If you are passionate about hospitality and capable of managing the details that ensure guest satisfaction, this Housekeeping Supervisor role offers a rewarding opportunity to advance your career in a supportive and dynamic environment.
