The role of Room Attendant at this hotel is a vital position that contributes directly to the overall guest experience. Those employed in this role are responsible for cleaning and maintaining the various guest and common areas throughout the hotel. The position offers both full-time and part-time work schedules, providing flexibility to accommodate the facility’s varying needs. The work shifts can vary, ensuring that cleanliness is maintained throughout the day. Breaks include two short breaks and a half-hour lunch period, and overtime work is seldom required, allowing a healthy work-life balance for employees.

The Room Attendant uses a variety of household cleaning machines and tools such as vacuum cleaners, mops, brooms, extendable wands, and specialized cleaning supplies. They often push a cleaning supply cart to efficiently transport linens, cleaning materials, and other items needed to maintain the cleanliness of all areas. Employees are required to wear uniforms as safety clothing and equipment to ensure professionalism and safety.

Job responsibilities are comprehensive and include cleaning guest rooms, bathrooms, lounges, lobbies, landings, elevators, stairways, kitchens, and locker rooms. Duties range from vacuuming carpets and upholstery to polishing metalwork and washing windows, walls, doors, and ceilings. The role also involves replenishing supplies such as drinking glasses, writing materials, and bathroom goods, replacing light bulbs, folding and transporting linens, and managing trash and waste disposal. Occasionally, Room Attendants may be required to move furniture, hang draperies, or roll carpets as part of their duties. Working conditions are generally inside well-lit and temperature-controlled environments; however, limited exposure to outdoor weather conditions is required for cleaning certain exterior areas.

This position demands physical stamina and the ability to perform various manual tasks including bending, twisting, stooping, pulling, standing, walking, and kneeling for extended periods. Strong communication skills and the ability to understand and follow verbal instructions are essential. Room Attendants must be capable of working independently without direct supervision while managing their time efficiently. Previous hotel housekeeping experience is preferred but not mandatory, as training is usually provided. Job Duties
