We are currently seeking a dedicated Housekeeping Team Member to join our team. This role is crucial in maintaining the cleanliness and overall appearance of guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces within the hotel. The Housekeeping Team Member will be responsible for ensuring that all assigned areas meet our cleanliness and maintenance standards, thus contributing directly to guest satisfaction and the overall reputation of our establishment. Responsibilities include regularly inspecting guest rooms and public areas to identify cleanliness issues and maintenance needs, collaborating closely with Floor Managers to support the productivity and performance of Guest Room Attendants, and promptly addressing guest complaints and requests with professionalism and care.
The ideal candidate will exhibit strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a proactive approach to managing time in a fast-paced setting. This position requires comfort with handling cleaning chemicals and equipment while adhering to all safety protocols and company policies. Physical stamina is essential as the role involves standing, walking, bending, lifting up to 50 pounds, and pushing loaded carts weighing up to 75 pounds. Flexibility in working various shifts, including weekends and holidays, is also necessary to meet business demands. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 1-year experience in housekeeping or hospitality
- Ability to safely handle cleaning chemicals and equipment
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds frequently and push loaded carts up to 75 pounds
- Flexible availability to work weekends, holidays, and varying shifts
- Effective communication skills in English
- Ability to meet attendance requirements
- Commitment to safety protocols and company policies
Job Qualifications
- 1-year previous housekeeping or hospitality experience
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to high cleanliness standards
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to consistently meet and exceed the expectations and requirements of internal and external guests
- Courteous, respectful, truthful, and appropriate communication skills
- Ability to contribute to a positive work environment and foster collaboration and teamwork
- Effective oral and written English communication skills, bi-lingual preferred
- Thorough knowledge of cleaning procedures, equipment, and supplies
- Working knowledge of OSHA requirements
- Ability to review and present cleaning performance statistics
Job Duties
- Inspect guest rooms and public areas daily to ensure standards of cleanliness, maintenance needs, and report on maintenance service requests
- Communicate with Floor Managers on the performance of Guest Room Attendants' productivity, cleanliness standards, and offer support for improvement
- Identify deficiencies in a room's cleanliness, arrangement, and supplies, and correct these deficiencies in all guest rooms for an assigned section
- Fill in with cleaning rooms as needed
- Always provide the highest quality of service to the guest through room cleanliness and attention to guests' needs
- Promptly and effectively handle guest complaints and requests
- Abide by and support all policies and procedures for housekeeping and special cleaning projects
