Job Requirements

  • other / certificate less than high school required
  • 6 months experience preferred
  • drivers license for those environmental services tech positions that will be required to drive HonorHealth vehicles, incumbent must have a clean driving record as defined by HonorHealth Network Driver Qualification Policy
  • must be at least 21 years of age
  • provide a current and valid Arizona driver’s license
  • have a motor vehicle report obtained and reviewed by Human Resources
  • successfully complete the quarterly HonorHealth Defensive Driving Course and provide a certificate of completion

Job Qualifications

  • high school diploma or GED preferred
  • 6 months experience preferred
  • drivers license preferred for positions requiring vehicle operation
  • ability to follow sanitation protocols and patient care standards
  • good communication and interpersonal skills
  • ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • attention to detail and reliability

Job Duties

  • maintains cleanliness of patient care areas following established procedures, sanitation protocols and achieves satisfaction and quality standards for room and common area cleaning
  • executes checkout room cleaning per department guidelines
  • disposes of hazardous and infectious waste in compliance with protocols
  • performs morning and evening patient room rounds, inspects room, removes clutter, empties trash, refreshes bathroom
  • responds to patient service requests for housekeeping services and hospitality support
  • cleans common area space and waiting areas on the patient care unit
  • stocks linen and housekeeping supplies
  • cleans and sanitizes equipment as assigned
  • stages equipment for pickup
  • monitors corridors and keeps free from clutter
  • participates in patient safety rounding
  • monitors patient for signs of distress
  • alerts nursing personnel when intervention or clinical monitoring is required
  • mixing of chemicals according to directions, resulting in optimum cleaning
  • operates, maintains and repairs cleaning equipment used by the department
  • performs other duties as assigned
