We are currently seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Housekeeper to join the Oakwood Gardens Care Center team on a part-time basis. With a competitive pay range of $17.48 to $17.58 per hour, this role is critical in ensuring the overall cleanliness, safety, and orderliness of the facility. As a housekeeper, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean and hygienic environment throughout the center, including public areas, resident rooms, and common spaces. This role is essential for supporting the health and safety standards necessary in a healthcare setting, directly contributing to the comfort and wellbeing of residents, staff, and visitors.
The Housekeeper will perform a variety of cleaning duties that include sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and sanitizing surfaces, ensuring all areas are free from debris, dust, and unpleasant odors. You will be expected to operate housekeeping equipment safely, using cleaning chemicals responsibly according to established protocols. Attention to detail is paramount, as you will be tasked with cleaning high-touch areas such as handrails, light fixtures, and restroom facilities, minimizing the risk of infection and maintaining a pleasant environment.
This position requires someone who can work independently as well as part of a team, managing their time effectively to complete assignments efficiently within the scheduled work hours. Strong communication skills and professionalism are important, as you will interact with residents, families, and staff members daily. Reporting any safety concerns immediately to management is also a key responsibility to safeguard the wellbeing of all in the care center.
The role demands physical stamina, including frequent walking, standing, bending, and the ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds. Adaptability and responsiveness to the dynamic demands of a fast-paced healthcare environment are essential. Prior experience in healthcare or long-term care housekeeping is preferred but not mandatory, as full training and support will be provided.

- previous housekeeping experience in a healthcare, rehabilitation, or long-term care setting preferred but not required
- ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- strong attention to detail and cleanliness
- good communication and interpersonal skills
- ability to read and understand procedure manuals, safety instructions, and cleaning protocols
- basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
- ability to solve practical problems and follow written, verbal, or diagram-based instructions
- frequent walking, standing, bending, reaching, pushing, and pulling
- ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 25 pounds
- ability to perform repetitive tasks such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, and sanitizing surfaces

Job Duties
- clean and maintain public and common areas including lobbies, restrooms, drinking fountains, hallways, and floors
- clean and sanitize resident rooms and bathrooms according to facility standards
- wipe down handrails and frequently touched surfaces to remove dust and debris
- clean walls, mirrors, windows, light fixtures, towel bars, and dispensers
- empty trash receptacles and replace liners as needed
- sweep, mop, vacuum, and maintain floors throughout the facility
- follow all safety procedures, including proper use of caution signs and secure storage of cleaning chemicals
