This accolade highlights the company’s dedication to employee satisfaction, engagement, and growth, making it an employer of choice in the hospitality sector.
Joining the Grand Hyatt Seattle as a Room Attendant / Housekeeper offers an incredible opportunity to be part of this award-winning team. This role is essential to maintaining the high standards of cleanliness and guest satisfaction that define the hotels reputation. The Room Attendant / Housekeeper is responsible for the thorough cleaning and upkeep of guest rooms, ensuring every area meets the rigorous hygiene and comfort expectations. This includes tasks such as cleaning bathrooms, making beds, vacuuming carpets, dusting furniture, and cleaning mirrors and windows. The position demands keen attention to detail and a focus on working both safely and efficiently to enhance the overall guest experience.
The hourly pay for this role ranges from $27.50 to $29.05 per hour, with starting rates set at $27.50. There are tiered salary increases based on tenure and responsibility, including opportunities for experienced candidates to qualify for lead roles with higher pay rates. Additional compensation can be earned through gratuities, extra tasks like making sofa or roll-away beds, and volunteering to clean additional rooms. This flexible earning potential, combined with the comprehensive benefits package, makes the position both rewarding and financially competitive.
As part of the Hyatt team, employees gain access to a variety of benefits and perks designed to support their wellbeing and professional development. These benefits include medical, vision, and dental insurance options available for a low monthly premium, retirement savings plans including 401(k) and RSP options, and important coverage such as life insurance and short-term disability insurance. New parents are supported through child leave and adoption assistance. Paid time off is generous and increases with years of service, with specific vacation days, floating holidays, and paid holidays. Additional leaves such as compassionate leave, jury duty leave, and Seattles paid sick and safe time are also provided.
Beyond the essential benefits, the Grand Hyatt Seattle offers perks aimed at enhancing the daily work experience and providing value beyond the paycheck. Uniforms are provided and cleaned free of charge, discounted parking and hotel room rates for employees and their families, free meals during shifts, and access to up to 12 complimentary hotel rooms after 90 days of service. A colleague discount program and tuition reimbursement further enrich the employment experience, while the ORCA Pass subsidy supports commuting costs.

Employees are part of a diverse community where inclusion and respect are paramount. The hotel seeks individuals with a genuine desire to satisfy the needs of others, excellent communication skills, physical stamina for the demands of the role, and flexible availability including mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays. This role is perfect for those who thrive in fast-paced environments and take pride in creating clean, welcoming spaces that contribute to memorable guest stays.
