Job Description

This job opportunity is with a healthcare facility that prioritizes cleanliness and safety to provide a comfortable, sanitary, and secure environment for patients, visitors, and staff. The organization is committed to maintaining high standards of hygiene and environmental safety, recognizing the critical role these play in patient care and overall health outcomes. As an employer, they emphasize the importance of courtesy, respect, ethical conduct, and compliance with corporate and regulatory guidelines to foster a positive work culture driven by values and continuous improvement. The facility is a professional healthcare establishment that implements rigorous cleaning protocols tailored to the needs of the patient population served, ensuring all areas including patient rooms, offices, hallways, and other common spaces are thoughtfully maintained.

The role offered is for a Housekeeper specializing in hospital and healthcare facility cleaning services. This position requires a reliable, motivated individual skilled in various cleaning tasks that include sweeping, mopping, sanitizing, waste removal, and the use of both manual and powered cleaning equipment. The employee must follow set guidelines for infection control, safety, proper use of disinfectants, and maintenance of cleanliness that prevents cross-infection and contamination. They must also observe strict adherence to safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and compliance with relevant health regulations such as HIPAA and infection control standards. The daily responsibilities include cleaning patients’ rooms, bathrooms, administrative offices, and common areas to preserve hygiene and the physical appearance of the healthcare environment.

In addition to these cleaning duties, the role requires active participation in quality improvement activities, cost management, and maintaining professional relationships. The employee is expected to take initiative to identify and meet customer needs proactively, uphold ethical standards, and comply with corporate compliance regulations. This includes maintaining accurate records, practicing honesty, and demonstrating respect for patient privacy and dignity. The position offers an opportunity to contribute meaningfully to patient care indirectly by ensuring a clean, safe, and welcoming environment essential for healthcare facilities.

Candidates for this role are preferably those with prior housekeeping experience and a high school diploma or GED. Strong communication skills and the ability to follow instructions precisely are crucial. Candidates must also be physically capable of medium work, involving exertion of varying degrees of force to move and handle cleaning equipment and materials. The ability to work independently while maintaining high-quality standards and demonstrating reliability and motivation is essential. This position highlights both the importance of environmental services in healthcare and the critical role the housekeeper plays in the overall patient care team.
