The available role is that of an Executive Housekeeper, a key management position responsible for overseeing housekeeping operations in alignment with established guest service, quality, and sustainability standards. This position offers a structured career progression, starting from Executive Housekeeper, advancing to Operations Manager, and ultimately reaching the Assistant General Manager level. In this role, the Executive Housekeeper will lead a diverse team by interviewing, selecting, training, scheduling, coaching, and supporting associates to ensure their performance consistently meets brand standards and aligns with the core values of the organization. The Executive Housekeeper will conduct regular inspections of guest rooms, public areas, and grounds to ensure cleanliness, appearance, and safety standards are maintained at all times.

The role requires excellent communication skills to handle inquiries related to hotel policies and services and professionally address any guest complaints or concerns. Additionally, the leader will manage inventory processes, prepare schedules based on hotel occupancy, and maintain departmental expenses within budget constraints. Administrative responsibilities, such as preparing and submitting paperwork for departmental functions and complying with internal audit standards, are also key components of the role.

A fundamental aspect of this position involves driving continuous improvement initiatives by being aware of service scores and working collaboratively to enhance guest satisfaction levels. The Executive Housekeeper will uphold compliance with specific brand standards and champion sustainable practices through the EarthView program, reflecting the hotel’s commitment to environmental stewardship. The role also emphasizes safe work practices, including adherence to OSHA and MSDS standards, wearing protective safety equipment, and participating in safety committees.

The physical demands of the position involve standing for extended periods, walking, pushing, lifting up to 25 pounds, bending, reaching, stooping, kneeling, or crouching. The work schedule may vary and can include holidays, weekends, and alternate shifts, requiring flexibility and dedication from the successful candidate.

Job Duties

  • Interview, select, train, schedule, coach and support associates, ensuring they perform in accordance with established brand or hotel standards and consistent with HHM core values
  • Observe and monitor staff performance to ensure efficient operations and adherence to policies and procedures
  • Inspect guest rooms, public areas and grounds for cleanliness, appearance and safety
  • Answer inquiries pertaining to hotel policies and services and resolve guests’ complaints and concerns
  • Prepare schedules based upon occupancy and assign duties to associates
  • Take inventory and submit periodic inventory orders to ensure supplies are purchased in a timely manner
  • Prepare required paperwork pertaining to departmental functions
