The position advertised is for a working leader at a Navy Gateway Inn and Suites or Navy Lodge property, where the successful candidate will oversee and participate in housekeeping duties while ensuring that program standards are consistently met. The role also includes involvement with laundry operations, some food handling responsibilities related to complimentary breakfast services, and requires possession of a valid state driver’s license to facilitate movement between facilities as required. Candidates will be expected to obtain relevant certifications, such as NHG housekeeping certification and food handling permits, within specified periods of their employment.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Six months experience in housekeeping or related field preferred
- Valid state driver license
- Ability to work flexible schedules including weekends and holidays
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Ability to operate cleaning equipment safely
- Ability to manage inventory and supplies
- Willingness to undergo certification training when required
Job Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent preferred
- Six months housekeeping experience preferred
- Leadership and or training experience preferred
- Ability to communicate effectively with team members and guests
- Basic knowledge of cleaning procedures and safety standards
- Ability to operate hand and powered cleaning equipment

Job Duties
- Oversee and pass on information instructions received from supervisor manager
- Assist in training new associates answer questions regarding changes to policies procedures and pertinent directives
- Ensure work schedules are adhered to keep supervisor apprised of work status assignments and advise concerning problem areas
- Train and demonstrate proper work methods and procedures for all personnel
- Assure the most efficient and economical methods of cleaning and maintaining guest rooms are implemented
- Ensure required cleaning materials and linen are available
- Work along with and accomplish work of the same kind and level as that performed by the associates led
- Maintain information on housekeeping work performed by room number of occupants departure and arrival dates etc
- Maintain continuity in the absence of immediate supervisor
- Greet and welcome guests upon sight always maintaining outstanding guest relations
- Conduct daily inspections of rooms housekeeping carts common areas laundry facilities and maintain written documentation of these inspections
- Ensure privacy and security of guests are maintained at all times
- Responsible for the security of all items in the storeroom and or assigned storage areas
- Determine and place orders for cleaning supplies in-room amenities and other materials or equipment needed by the housekeeping staff and ensure items are available when required
- Ensure equipment is properly maintained stored and accounted for
- Issue amenities supplies and linen to the housekeeping attendants and perform a monthly quarterly inventory as required
- Handle guest and or staff suggestions and complaints resolving problems in a tactful and diplomatic manner referring difficult and or unusual situations to the supervisor for resolution
- Regularly perform the full range and scope of housekeeping services including but not limited to cleaning guest rooms public spaces storage areas laundry rooms exterior space etc
- May be responsible for the set-up and breakdown clean-up of the complimentary self-service breakfast bar
- Assist with preparing heating displaying and replenishing breakfast items available to guests during breakfast hours
- Ensure surrounding area is returned to its original state and free of all left-over food by the end of designated breakfast hour
- Maintain a clean and safe environment
- Apply knowledge of blood-borne pathogens safety measures to determine potential safety concerns related to contaminated linens and personal care items
- Follow all NEXCOM Hospitality Group NHG protocols during daily service activity
- Perform and inspect laundry operations at the facility
- Required to possess a valid state drivers license to travel to other lodging facilities as required within the normal scope of duties
- May be called upon to maintain operations during inclement weather and other emergencies for short period of time in the absence of immediate supervisor
- May be required to obtain NHG housekeeping certification within 6 months of employment as well as other certification requirements
- Perform other related duties as assigned
- Will be required to work a variety of hours including early mornings evenings weekends and holidays
