The Environmental Services (EVS) Lead position at Shea Medical Center, a key location within the HonorHealth network situated at 9003 E Shea Blvd Scottsdale, AZ, is a full-time evening shift role from 3:30 pm to 12:00 am. This position is pivotal in maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, safety, and infection control in the hospital environment. The role requires supervising and guiding the environmental services staff, ensuring that all cleaning and waste management operations comply with state regulations and hospital policies. The EVS Lead is responsible for overseeing daily operations, coordinating staffing, and managing resources efficiently to meet departmental goals. They act as a bridge between frontline staff and management, reporting important information and assisting with staff training and disciplinary matters. Job Requirements

High school diploma or GED candidate can be in process of achieving their GED
one year environmental service experience
current and valid Arizona driver's license
must be at least 21 years of age

vocational or specialized post high school training preferred
one year of environmental service experience required
one year of leadership experience preferred
two years of healthcare experience preferred
two years of job-related duty preferred
two years of supervision preferred

Job Duties

Lead and oversee the environmental services staff
work closely with the supervisor and manager to ensure appropriate staffing levels
coordinate daily work schedules and reassign staff as needed
lead, direct and train environmental services staff and new employees on equipment
ensure adherence to new employee retention program
assist with employee training and re-training
document and report disciplinary problems to the department manager
maintain high quality appearance in assigned areas
ensure all areas are cleaned according to acceptable standards
manage chemical and supply levels and place orders when needed
ensure cleaning equipment is in good working condition and report issues
perform duties as assigned for staffing shortages or department needs
allocate resources including supplies, labor, and services in line with departmental budget guidelines
maintain professional relationships with key personnel and respond to their requests
participate in joint inspections with key personnel
perform other duties as assigned
