The Housekeeping Inspector plays a critical role in upholding these standards by ensuring that every guest room, corridor, and service area meets or exceeds the hotel’s cleanliness, safety, and quality requirements. This position is essential in preserving the resort’s reputation for excellence by conducting detailed inspections and providing timely feedback to housekeeping staff. The Housekeeping Inspector is responsible for verifying that all rooms are cleaned to standard and marked correctly in the Property Management System (PMS), as well as monitoring guest requests to be fulfilled promptly.
In this role, the inspector collaborates closely with the Executive Housekeeper and supervisory team to identify areas requiring additional attention or resources. Maintaining accurate inventory of in-room amenities and housekeeping supplies is another key responsibility, along with generating daily and weekly reports that track the status of cleaning operations and inventory levels.
The ideal candidate has at least one year of supervisory experience in a hotel housekeeping environment and is capable of communicating clearly with guests and team members alike. They exhibit a professional demeanor fitting for a high-end resort environment and demonstrate the ability to effectively manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced, ever-changing setting. This position also involves providing coaching and guidance to housekeeping associates, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and attention to detail.
Additional responsibilities include ensuring adherence to safety protocols such as fire safety, proper lifting techniques, and hazardous communication standards. The Housekeeping Inspector participates in daily meetings to communicate important information to the team and assists with training new associates on cleaning procedures and safety practices.
This role demands physical fitness and stamina, as it requires standing, walking, bending, and lifting objects up to 50 pounds throughout each shift. The ability to work flexible schedules, including holidays and weekends, is essential to meet operational needs and maintain a high level of guest satisfaction consistently.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- at least 1 year of housekeeping supervisor experience in a hotel or equivalent
- ability to communicate clearly with guests and associates
- ability to handle multiple tasks in an ever-changing environment
- must be able to perform assigned duties with attention to detail speed accuracy follow-through courtesy cooperativeness and work well with limited supervision
- able to operate a motor vehicle
- able to communicate in English
- able to work flexible schedules including holidays and weekends
- physically fit to lift pull and push items up to 50 pounds
- able to stand walk reach and bend throughout shift
Job Qualifications
- Professional demeanor appropriate for a resort environment
- knowledge of proper chemical handling cleaning techniques and use of equipment and machinery
- experience using software programs such as Microsoft Office Word Excel and Outlook
- effective at listening to understanding clarifying and responding to guest concerns and issues
- ability to provide coaching guidance and constructive feedback to associates
- experience in maintaining accurate records reports and productivity documentation
Job Duties
- Inspect guest suites and ensure they meet established cleanliness and presentation standards verifying that all suites are cleaned by end of each shift and updated to Vacant Inspected (VI) status in the Property Management System (PMS)
- monitor cleanliness of all areas including suites hallways and storages by completing inspections and communicating departmental needs to Executive Housekeeper and Supervisors
- monitor guest requests to ensure completion within 15 minutes
- maintain accurate in-room water inventory and complete daily report
- manage supplies complete weekly inventory and room inventory
- complete required end-of-day reports and communications with PM Shift
- maintain a log of all projects general cleaning issues patterns and concerns in rooms and public areas
- report areas requiring attention to appropriate management
- follow up and ensure VIPs and site inspections are set per standard
- always display a professional image through appearance dress communication and conduct
- promptly return all lost and found items
- follow and monitor key control phone and radio policies
- follow and monitor all safety standards such as Hazardous Communications Blood Borne Pathogens Fire Safety Proper Lifting Techniques and Housekeeping Safety
- distribute keys boards and communication devices for staff daily
- participate in morning meetings to assist in communicating with associates
- monitor housekeeping associate’s performance and provide coaching guidance and constructive feedback
- assist with training new housekeeping associates in cleaning procedures quality standards and safety practices
- maintain accurate inspection records reports and productivity documentation
- support inventory control by monitoring housekeeping supplies and reporting shortages
- collaborate with other departments to ensure efficient daily operations and high guest satisfaction
- perform any other reasonable duties as required by management
