The role of Housekeeping Inspector at the Pueblo of Sandia is integral to upholding these high standards. This position entails inspecting and training housekeeping staff to ensure all departmental operations meet and exceed the resort’s strict housekeeping specifications. Reporting directly to the Director of Housekeeping Services, the Housekeeping Inspector plays a critical role in maintaining cleanliness, safety, and orderliness in guest rooms, public areas, and hallways. This full-time position requires a meticulous eye for detail as well as the ability to lead and mentor team members effectively.
The Housekeeping Inspector is responsible for assessing the performance and service quality of employees, providing immediate corrective actions when necessary, and ensuring all guest room departures are completed before new arrivals. The role demands routine inspection of work areas and equipment for compliance with established standards and safety protocols. Additionally, the position supports operational efficiency by submitting maintenance requests and assisting with administrative duties such as screening applicants.

Job Requirements
- Must be able to successfully pass a stringent background investigation
- Will require a pre-employment and random drug screening
- Ability to lift at least 25 pounds
- Ability to maintain physical activities including balancing, climbing, crawling, crouching, feeling, finger dexterity, grasping, hearing, kneeling, lifting, pulling, pushing, reaching, seeing, walking, sitting, standing, stooping, and talking
- Must have punctual and regular attendance
- Ability to follow all safety and operational procedures
- Willingness to work indoors under variable temperature conditions
- Ability to work near hazards such as moving mechanical parts, electrical current, scaffolding and exposure to chemicals and fumes
Job Qualifications
- Two years of housekeeping experience including one year supervisory experience
- Excellent customer service skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to be detail oriented
- Ability to supervise and evaluate staff
- Ability to maintain proper security key control procedures for guest rooms
- Ability to read and comprehend safety procedures and instructions
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos
- Ability to use cleaning supplies and equipment
- Ability to deal effectively and professionally with the general public
Job Duties
- Inspect guest rooms, hallways and public areas immediately correcting any deficiencies
- Inspect and evaluate workers’ performance to ensure quality service and compliance with housekeeping specifications are met and ensure all departures are completed by check in
- Submit all maintenance issues into the EAM system, on the cell phone
- Assist Housekeeping Supervisor with opening the house and other office duties as needed
- Ensure each staff member is following all safety precautions
- Ensure all team members receive proper training on departmental operational procedures and functions
- Resolve customer complaints regarding worker performance and services rendered
- Inspect work areas and operating equipment to ensure conformance to established standards
- Assist with cleaning and shampooing of all carpets on assigned floors
- Attend and complete all required department training including bio clean up, carpet shampooing, equipment safety, and proper use of cleaning agents and chemicals
- Assist Housekeeping Supervisor or Manager with screening and interviewing applicants when required
- Routinely update team member’s performance journals and assist with input for performance appraisals
- Perform the tasks of a Guest Room Attendant, Turndown Attendant, or House Person as needed
- Ensure all lost and found items are logged and properly secured
- Properly manage guest room master keys and storage keys check out and return
- Comply with all Housekeeping/Public Areas and Global Standard Operating Procedures
- Serve as a mentor to train new inspectors or attendants using the buddy system
- Report any maintenance or hazardous issues to the manager/supervisor
- Provide proper customer service by assisting external/internal guests with their questions or requests
- Check computer rooming system midday for any early outs
- Create an environment of teamwork through communication and appreciation
- Maintain punctuality and regular attendance as per Attendance Policy
