This job posting is for the position of Houseperson at Aulani, A Disney Resort and Spa. In this role, the individual will be a valuable member of the housekeeping team, responsible for supporting the Housekeepers in maintaining the cleanliness and overall appearance of the hotel property. The Houseperson plays a crucial part in ensuring guest satisfaction by delivering requested items, assisting in room preparation, and keeping communal areas pristine and welcoming.
The Houseperson is expected to be proactive, enthusiastic, and attentive to detail, assisting with tasks such as transporting linens and towels, cleaning corridors, dusting surfaces, sanitizing high-touch areas, and operating specialized cleaning equipment. This position requires a positive attitude, good communication skills, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Employment is full-time with a pay rate of $33.95 per hour, and there may be select benefits provided as part of the compensation package including medical, financial, and other resources depending on the position level. Job Requirements
- Must use personal protective equipment including boots, gloves, goggles
- Familiarity with hand tools like mops and brooms and power equipment/tools
- Positive attitude and ability to remain positive regardless of current task
- Proactive in communicating concerns and reacting to situations
- Understands importance of safety in all aspects of work performance and personal accountability for safe behaviors
- Receptive to special requests
- Enthusiastic about interacting and helping guests and Cast
- Ability to drive small powered equipment
- Able to read, write, and speak the English language
- Willingness to maintain availability for full-time shifts including early mornings, late nights, weekends, and holidays
- Some roles require additional specialized training in procedure and ergonomic principles
- Full availability seven days per week is preferred
Job Qualifications
- Previous experience cleaning office buildings, hospitals, or restaurants preferred
- Basic computer knowledge
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Enthusiastic about interacting and helping guests and Cast
- Ability to drive small powered equipment such as golf cart type vehicles and ride-on sweepers
- Knowledgeable about the resort and surrounding area
- Proficient in the use of mobile devices such as iPhone and iPad
- Willing to consistently be a role model while delivering The Five Keys and Aulani Core Values
Job Duties
- Assists Housekeeper
- Transports dirty linens/towels from corridor floors to the linen room and loading dock
- Cleans and dusts corridors, walls, baseboards, vacuums carpets, cleans windows, sanitizes high touch areas and elevators
- Delivers items requested by guests
- Delivers machines, cribs, and air mattresses as needed to guest rooms
- Restocks linen rooms
- sweeps and cleans linen room floors daily
- Cleans vending and ice machines, DVC Trash and Recycle Rooms, Laundry Room floors, walls, and baseboards
- Removes trash and recycle materials to appropriate areas throughout the day
- Utilizes specialized housekeeping equipment such as floor machines and extractors to deep clean guest room balconies and bathrooms
