The full-time House Attendant position at Hotel Indigo Cleveland Gateway is essential in delivering outstanding guest experiences by maintaining cleanliness and order in all public areas and supporting the housekeeping team. As the "Heart of the House," the House Attendant plays a crucial role in ensuring that guests feel comfortable and satisfied with their stay, which directly contributes to the hotel's reputation and guest loyalty. The House Attendant is responsible for tasks such as engaging with guests to ensure their needs are met, walking assigned floors to collect bags, trash, and soiled linen, replenishing linen supplies, delivering requested items to guest rooms, and assisting room attendants with cleaning tasks when necessary. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Prior housekeeping or custodial experience preferred
- Ability to stand, walk and exert physical effort for extended periods
- Ability to lift at least 25 pounds
- Basic communication skills
- Ability to follow safety standards and department procedures
- Flexible to work various shifts including weekends and holidays
Job Qualifications
- Housekeeping experience desirable
- Neat, pleasant personality

- Ability to work on feet for an extended period

- Ability to move, traverse, position self to reach corners on floors and high places
- Observe conditions, detect odors
- Position and navigate carts weighing up to 100 lbs in tight spaces
- Operate equipment including spray bottles, vacuums, mops, brooms, dust pans, scrub pads and dusters
- Lift, carry and position loads of at least 25lbs
Job Duties
- Engage with guests to ensure their stay is going well
- Work as a team to accomplish the goal of resort/hotel cleanliness
- Walk all assigned floors at beginning and end of shift to collect bags, trash, and soiled linen
- Pickup clean linen and refill the par stock of linen on each floor pantry
- Deliver towels, cribs, cots and other items to the guest rooms on requests
- Perform duties of room attendant when necessary
- Refill the par stock of guest amenities and supplies on each floor pantry
- Help the room attendants with the heavy lifting when super cleaning / spring cleaning of rooms
- Clean all public areas in the prescribed manner while following department standard operating procedures
- Remove soiled linen and trash from all service areas and take to appropriate locations in the prescribed manner
- Always respond in a friendly, helpful manner to guests and other team members
