The Housekeeping Houseperson role at Northwood is a crucial position focused on maintaining cleanliness and the overall appearance of the hotel, especially public areas. This role is integral to ensuring the hotel environment is inviting and spotless for guests, reinforcing the company's commitment to high service standards. The Houseperson will be responsible for cleaning and maintaining public spaces such as lobbies, hallways, restrooms, elevators, and stairwells. Duties will include dusting, polishing, vacuuming, sanitizing, and replenishing supplies as needed, as well as handling waste disposal appropriately. Additionally, the role supports guest rooms by delivering linens, towels, and supplies, removing dirty linens and trash, and assisting with room turnovers when necessary.
Beyond cleaning, the Houseperson plays a part in general upkeep by reporting maintenance issues and assisting with minor repairs, reinforcing the smooth operation of the hotel environment. This position requires attention to detail, physical capability to handle lifting and carrying, and flexibility to work different shifts including weekends and holidays. Previous housekeeping experience is preferred but not a strict requirement, as training and team support are provided. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Ability to communicate effectively in English
- Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods
- Physical stamina to perform manual tasks including lifting and bending

Job Qualifications

Job Duties
- Clean and maintain public areas including lobbies hallways elevators and stairwells
- Dust polish and vacuum furniture and fixtures
- Clean and sanitize restrooms replenishing supplies as needed
- Empty trash cans and dispose of waste properly
- Clean windows mirrors and other glass surfaces
- Sweep mop and scrub floors as required
- Deliver linens towels and other supplies to guest rooms
- Remove dirty linens and trash from guest rooms
- Assist with room turnovers as needed
- Report any maintenance issues or damages to the appropriate department
- Assist with minor repairs such as changing light bulbs or fixing leaky faucets
- Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Housekeeping Supervisor or Manager
- Adhere to all hotel policies and procedures
