Job Description

The hiring establishment for the House Attendant position is a reputable hotel resort facility known for its commitment to providing guests with a clean, comfortable, and welcoming environment. This employer prioritizes maintaining high standards of cleanliness and guest satisfaction through dedicated and professional staff members. The resort facility operates with a focus on hospitality excellence, ensuring that guests experience a pleasant and hygienic stay throughout all areas of the property. The work environment includes a variety of locations within the resort, ranging from guest rooms and bathrooms to lounges, lobbies, stairways, and outdoor areas. These areas are maintained with various flooring types such as cement, carpet, tile, and wood, and the settings are mostly well-lit and temperature controlled to support employee comfort during shifts.

The House Attendant role is integral to the overall guest experience, with responsibilities centered on cleaning and maintaining the resort facility to a pristine standard. This position requires the use of various cleaning machinery and tools, including industrial floor and carpet scrubbers, waxers, vacuum cleaners, and general cleaning equipment such as mops and brooms. Employees utilize cleaning supply pushcarts and assistive devices like step stools to efficiently manage their tasks. Safety clothing, such as employee uniforms, protective gloves, and eye protection, is provided to ensure adherence to safety protocols. The House Attendant must be able to speak, read, write, and understand the primary language used in the workplace to communicate effectively.

Work shifts for this position vary depending on the facility's needs, with both full-time and part-time opportunities available. The position typically includes two breaks and a half-hour lunch, with overtime working only rarely required. This role demands physical stamina, the ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally, and the capacity to perform various physical movements such as bending, twisting, stooping, pulling, sitting, standing, walking, or kneeling for extended durations. The House Attendant must also be able to maneuver loaded work equipment across uneven surfaces and work independently while managing time efficiently.

The core duties of the House Attendant encompass a wide range of cleaning and maintenance activities: arranging and moving furniture, turning mattresses, hanging drapery, polishing metalwork, collecting and storing soiled linens, replenishing supplies in bathrooms and guest rooms, stocking cleaning carts, and delivering items such as television sets, ironing boards, high chairs, baby cribs, and small appliances to guest rooms. Additionally, the House Attendant maintains outdoor and indoor common areas by removing debris, cleaning driveways, waxing and polishing floors, and deep-cleaning carpets and upholstery using industrial equipment. The role sometimes extends to light electrical tasks like replacing light bulbs and washing walls, ceilings, windows, door panels, sills, and woodwork. The House Attendant contributes actively to team efforts by assisting housekeeping staff with linen processing duties and supports management directives by performing other assigned responsibilities.

Moreover, this employer participates in the E-Verify program to ensure that new hires are eligible to work in the United States legally. New employees will undergo an employment eligibility verification process against records from the Social Security Administration and the Department of Homeland Security. This transparent process allows employees to be aware of and address any mismatches in their verification status while continuing to work.

Overall, the House Attendant position provides a vital service within a dynamic and well-established resort environment. The role is designed for individuals who are reliable, hardworking, and detail-oriented, with a strong dedication to cleanliness and guest service. This position offers a supportive team atmosphere where effective communication and customer service skills are valued.
