The role of Houseperson at the Omni Providence Hotel is pivotal to maintaining the high standards of cleanliness and organization that the property is known for. This position involves ensuring that public spaces and guest room floors are meticulously stocked and maintained, supporting Guest Room Attendants, and elevating the overall guest experience. The Houseperson acts as the backbone of the hotel's housekeeping operations by managing logistical tasks such as retrieving soiled linens, disposing of waste, and replenishing cleaning supplies. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Prior housekeeping or hospitality experience is helpful but not required
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, pushing, and pulling heavy objects
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Availability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety
Job Qualifications
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to communicate effectively with fellow associates and guests in person or via a cellular telephone/radio
- Must be able to read and understand daily work assignments
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis
- Must be able to push/pull up to 250 pounds frequently
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays
Job Duties
- Retrieve soiled linen and garbage from guest rooms and room attendants carts and/or storage closets to dispose of through the linen chute or dumpsters
- Maintain hallways, reporting maintenance issues and special cleaning assignments such as carpet cleaning or repainting areas
- Deliver guest amenities or special requests to guest rooms such as rollaway beds, baby cribs, refrigerators, toothbrushes/toothpaste
- Complete daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly projects as assigned by Housekeeping Managers/Supervisors
- Clean stairwells, elevators and hallways free from debris and room service trays
- Maintain housekeeping supply storeroom by organizing new supplies upon delivery and restock of floors
- Comply with policies and procedures
- Practice safe work habits and comply with sanitary, safety, security and emergency procedures
- Perform special projects and other responsibilities as assigned by management
