Situated in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, this facility stands as the largest long-term care establishment in the state, offering a comprehensive range of services including general long-term care, short-stay rehabilitation, and specialized memory care units. By fostering a family-oriented, fun, and supportive work environment, Good Samaritan Society seeks to create a workplace where employees feel valued and inspired to contribute to its mission of delivering quality care at just the right time for its residents.

The salary range for this role is between $15.00 and $17.00 per hour, with a weekly commitment of 40 hours. Every other weekend rotation is required, emphasizing the importance of flexibility and dedication to resident care. This role is vital in maintaining a safe, sanitary, and health-compliant environment throughout the facility, directly contributing to the well-being of patients, residents, visitors, and staff.

Duties include cleaning patient and resident rooms, hallways, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, locker rooms, and other designated work areas. The role demands proficiency in the use of housekeeping tools and techniques, including sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, waxing, polishing floors, and properly utilizing powered cleaning machines. Additionally, technicians are expected to wear appropriate personal protective equipment to safeguard themselves and others while effectively managing cleaning supplies and equipment.
Physical activity is a significant component of this job, requiring the technician to be on their feet for most of the shift and engaging in activities such as lifting up to 40-50 pounds, walking, climbing, stooping, twisting, squatting, and pushing or pulling various weights across flat surfaces and ramps. The role may occasionally require overtime, call-back availability, and flexibility to cover nights, weekends, and holidays based on the needs of the patients and the facility.
