The Housekeeper plays a vital role within StoneBridge Senior Living, providing essential cleaning services to uphold a safe, sanitary, and homelike environment for residents, staff, and visitors. This position is crucial in maintaining the physical environment of the facility according to established policies and procedures that comply with all relevant health and safety regulations. The Housekeeper ensures that resident rooms, bathrooms, and communal spaces are meticulously cleaned and sanitized daily. Respecting residents' privacy and preferences is a top priority in their daily duties, ensuring a comforting and dignified atmosphere.

This full-time role demands attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols, especially when handling cleaning chemicals and biohazardous waste. The Housekeeper at StoneBridge uses personal protective equipment during exposure to potentially hazardous materials and participates in ongoing training and state survey preparations to maintain high environmental safety standards. With duties ranging from routine cleaning, waste disposal, and pest monitoring to emergency preparedness and safety hazard management, this position is integral to the health and well-being of the community.

Job Requirements

  • Experience working in a healthcare environment in Environmental Services preferred
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Friendly attitude and excellent communication skills required
  • Ability to express self adequately in written and oral communication
  • Ability to communicate effectively in an interdisciplinary care setting with residents, families, and staff
  • Willingness to comply with safety and health regulations
  • Availability to work flexible scheduling as needed

Job Qualifications

  • Experience working in a healthcare environment in Environmental Services preferred

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Basic understanding of safety and sanitation practices

Job Duties

  • Cleans assigned resident rooms, bathrooms and common areas daily according to facility procedures
  • Respects resident's privacy and preferences about room arrangement and personal items
  • Cleans walls, ceilings, windows, mirrors, and waxed floors according to department procedures and cleaning schedules
  • Takes appropriate actions to secure housekeeping supplies out of reach of residents at all times
  • Disposes of trash and waste including biohazardous waste according to facility policies and procedures
  • Posts signs indicating safety hazards when housekeeping activities pose environmental hazards
  • Uses personal protective equipment when at risk of exposure to blood or hazardous body fluids
  • Complies with all safety instructions when using chemical substances and keeps chemicals in original containers
  • Monitors and reports evidence of rodents or pests
  • Communicates with Maintenance Director for state inspections
  • Reports injury to self or others immediately
  • Attends in-service education programs and applies information to job tasks
  • Monitors workplace for safety and fire hazards and corrects or reports potential problems
  • Participates in fire and disaster drills and carries out assigned duties during emergencies
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
