We are currently seeking a professional Housekeeping and Laundry Aide to join our team. Under the leadership of the Housekeeping Supervisor, this role involves assisting in the upkeep of the facility by keeping resident rooms, common areas, restrooms, corridors, and other spaces meticulously clean and safe. This position is essential in promoting a dignified, happy, and healthy environment by adhering to established protocols and infection control measures. The role requires regular physical activity, including carrying and moving items up to 80 pounds, and demands a high level of attention to detail, reliability, and a proactive approach to potential hazards. Compensation for this position starts at $17 per hour, with considerations made based on location, shift schedule, skills, experience, and expertise. Employment is contingent upon full COVID-19 vaccination including booster shots, showcasing our commitment to resident and staff safety. Job Requirements

  • Fully vaccinated against COVID-19 including booster shots
  • able to meet the physical demands of the job requiring frequent sitting, standing, walking, talking, hearing, and handling objects
  • able to carry an estimated weight of up to 65 pounds and push or pull weights up to 80 pounds
  • able to stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb or balance as required
  • able to follow universal precautions and infection control procedures
  • able to comply with facility attendance policies
  • able to safely handle cleaning equipment and chemicals

Job Qualifications

  • Previous housekeeping experience preferred
  • knowledge of cleaning techniques and infection control procedures
  • ability to follow written and verbal instructions
  • good communication skills
  • physical stamina to perform demanding tasks
  • ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • high school diploma or equivalent preferred

Job Duties

  • Complies with the facility's attendance policy requiring regular, reliable, and punctual attendance
  • cleans rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, locker rooms, and other work areas so that health standards are met
  • cleans resident rooms according to assigned schedule and established facility procedures
  • cleans other areas of the facility as assigned by Housekeeping Supervisor
  • services, cleans, and supplies restrooms
  • cleans rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and draperies, using vacuum cleaners
  • maintains floors in a hazard-free manner
  • uses "wet floor" signs, as appropriate
  • empties wastebaskets, empties and cleans ashtrays, and transports other trash and waste to disposal areas
  • assists Housekeeping Supervisor with weekly and monthly major housekeeping tasks as requested
  • follows all universal precautions and infection control procedures
  • reports hazards such as broken, loose or worn flooring, handrails, etc. to Housekeeping Supervisor, Maintenance, or Administrator
  • follows rules for equipment handling
  • dusts and polishes furniture and equipment
  • keeps storage areas and carts well-stocked, clean, and tidy
  • maintains all supplies and cleaning products out of residents' reach using housekeeping carts, keeping the cart locked when not in use
  • keeps hallways and corridors clear of carts and equipment when not in use
  • provides support services to other areas of the building as needed
  • attends in-service training classes as assigned
  • assists in laundry
  • any other assignments as directed by the Housekeeping Supervisor and/or Administrator
  • other duties may be assigned
