Job Description
Banner Health is a leading nonprofit health system dedicated to making health care easier and more accessible for the communities we serve. Located in Mesa, Arizona, Banner Health is recognized as a certified Great Place To Work, committed to prioritizing the wellbeing and professional growth of its team members. The organization embodies a culture of excellence, innovation, inclusion, and patient-centered care, making it one of the top employers in the healthcare sector. With a network of hospitals, clinics, and specialized care centers, Banner Health continuously strives to provide high-quality, compassionate health services across multiple communities.
As a Housekeeping EVS Associate within Banner Health, you will hold a vital role in ensuring an optimal patient experience through maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment. This position is based on the night shift in Mesa, Arizona, typically working from 11pm to 7:30am, covering full-time hours totaling 40 per week. It also includes weekend and holiday rotations, with a flat rate $1/hour weekend shift differential and an 18% night shift differential when applicable. This job is ideal for individuals who are conscientious, detail-oriented, and eager to contribute meaningfully to a healthcare setting.
In this dynamic role, you will be responsible for executing a variety of cleaning tasks including dusting, mopping, scrubbing, disinfecting, vacuuming, and polishing, all in adherence to departmental policies and infection control guidelines. Your efforts will help safeguard the health, safety, and morale of patients, visitors, and staff by providing an uncluttered and aesthetically pleasing atmosphere with minimal disruption. You will work closely with the environmental services team to fulfill this mission, reinforcing safety protocols and infection prevention standards essential in a hospital environment.
The role will also entrust you with responsibilities such as emptying hampers and transporting soiled linen, disposing of trash and medical waste including sharps, and restocking essential supplies like toilet tissue, paper towels, and hand soap. Proper maintenance and usage of departmental cleaning equipment, reporting repairs when necessary, and overseeing proper logging of equipment use are also key aspects of your duties.
Additionally, you may engage in special cleaning projects like window or wall washing and addressing heavily soiled items or furnishings. Communication skills are important, as you will respond to queries and service requests from patients, staff, and visitors, always striving to meet or exceed customer service satisfaction goals. This position functions under regular supervision with responsibility focused on assigned areas within the healthcare facility.
Applicants are expected to be capable of working independently and collaboratively, interpreting verbal and written instructions, and communicating effectively by phone and in person. Familiarity with Material Safety Data Sheets and safe handling of cleaning chemicals is necessary. Candidates employed in certain behavioral health settings must possess and maintain an Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card for compliance and safety purposes.
Banner Health values previous experience in environmental services and related education but offers opportunities for growth to motivated individuals. If you are seeking a meaningful career where your work directly impacts patient care and safety while receiving competitive differential pay and comprehensive support, this Housekeeping EVS Associate role is an excellent fit.
