Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to work evening shifts including weekends and holidays
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Ability to handle and dispose of medical waste safely
- Must possess or be able to obtain an Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card if working in behavioral health or senior center settings
- Must sign an Arizona Criminal History Affidavit upon hire
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Must be able to communicate effectively with others by phone and verbally
- Must be able to read and understand material safety data sheets and chemical instructions
- Willingness to perform physical cleaning tasks such as dusting, mopping, scrubbing, and vacuuming
Job Qualifications
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team without continuous supervision
- Effective communication skills including verbal communication and telephone etiquette
- Ability to interpret and respond to verbal and written instructions
- Ability to read and understand material safety data sheets and instructions for mixing and use of cleaning chemicals
- Physical ability to perform cleaning tasks including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods
- Previous related experience and familiarity with environmental services equipment and cleaning techniques preferred
- Additional related education and/or experience preferred
Job Duties
- Perform a variety of assigned cleaning tasks including dusting, mopping, scrubbing, disinfecting, vacuuming and polishing according to departmental policy and procedures
- Empty hampers and transport soiled linen
- Empty trash containers and remove all trash including medical waste containers and sharps
- Inventory, restock and replenish supplies such as toilet tissue, paper towels, and hand soap in assigned areas
- Maintain cleanliness of departmental equipment and notify appropriate personnel when repairs are needed
- Perform special projects such as window washing, wall washing, and removal of heavily soiled items or furnishings
- Respond to questions and requests from patients, staff, and visitors and meet or exceed customer service satisfaction goals
