Job Description

Banner Health is a renowned healthcare provider known for its commitment to delivering exceptional patient care and fostering a positive work environment. Recognized as a certified Great Place To Work, Banner Health prioritizes its team members' well-being and development, striving to maintain a workplace culture that supports career growth, work-life balance, and professional satisfaction. The organization operates numerous hospitals and medical centers, including specialized facilities like the Banner Behavioral Health Hospital and Olive Branch Senior Center, serving diverse communities across Arizona and beyond. Banner Health continually aims to be the best place to work in healthcare by investing in comprehensive training, inclusive policies, and rewarding career opportunities that align with individual lifestyles and career goals.

The role of a Housekeeping Environmental Services (EVS) Associate at Banner Health is vital to the overall patient experience. As a member of the environmental services team, this position plays a crucial role in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for patients, visitors, and staff across various hospital areas. The Housekeeping EVS Associate’s responsibilities include performing a wide range of cleaning tasks such as dusting, mopping, scrubbing, disinfecting, vacuuming, and polishing surfaces following established department policies and procedures. This position operates primarily during the evening shift, from 3 pm to 11:30 pm, with full-time hours totaling 40 per week. Weekend and holiday rotations are part of the role, especially during the initial employment period, ensuring comprehensive coverage of facility needs.

In this role, associates contribute to a safe healthcare environment by adhering strictly to infection control and safety protocols. The position requires the ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a focus on minimizing interference in patient and staff activities. Alongside routine cleaning tasks, associates handle the disposal of medical waste, including sharps and soiled linen transport. They are also responsible for inventory management of cleaning supplies and departmental equipment upkeep, notifying appropriate personnel if maintenance or repairs are needed. Special projects might include tasks such as window washing, wall washing, and removal of heavily soiled items, enhancing the facility's aesthetic appeal.

Banner Health offers competitive compensation featuring a flat-rate weekend shift differential of $1 per hour and an 18% night shift differential, recognizing the critical contributions of the environmental services team during non-standard hours. Overall, the Housekeeping EVS Associate position at Banner Health is a rewarding career path for individuals who value contributing to patient care through environmental cleanliness and safety. The role provides ample opportunities for learning multiple hospital areas while ensuring a physically demanding position that fosters team spirit, attention to detail, and commitment to healthcare excellence.
