Job Requirements
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team without continuous supervision
- Ability to interpret and respond to verbal and written instructions
- Ability to communicate effectively by phone and verbally
- Ability to read and understand material safety data sheets and cleaning chemical instructions
- Ability to fill out chemical identification stickers
- Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to complete onboarding process in a timely manner
- Ability to pass background check and drug screen
- Compliance with annual flu vaccination policy
- For certain facilities, possession of an Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card at hire and maintain during employment
Job Qualifications
- Previous related experience preferred
- Familiarity with environmental services equipment and cleaning techniques preferred
- Ability to communicate effectively with others
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
- Strong teamwork and independent work skills
- Ability to read and understand material safety data sheets
- Basic understanding of cleaning chemical use and safety
- Additional related education or experience preferred
Job Duties
- Perform a variety of cleaning tasks including dusting, mopping, scrubbing, disinfecting, vacuuming, and polishing according to departmental policies
- Empty hampers and transport soiled linen
- Dispose of trash and medical waste including sharps
- Inventory, restock, and replenish supplies such as toilet tissue, paper towels, and hand soap
- Maintain cleanliness of departmental equipment and notify personnel for repairs
- Perform special projects like window washing, wall washing, and removing heavily soiled items
- Respond to questions and requests from patients, staff, and visitors
