Job Requirements
- Must be able to work varied shifts including evenings weekends and holidays
- Must be physically able to perform fast paced and physically demanding tasks involving walking and pushing cleaning carts
- Must complete a background check and drug screen
- Must receive an annual flu vaccine or follow exemption process
- Must be able to handle cleaning chemicals safely and follow safety protocols
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Job Qualifications
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team without continuous supervision
- Effective communication skills including verbal and phone communication
- Ability to interpret and respond to verbal and written instructions
- Ability to read and understand material safety data sheets and instructions for mixing and use of cleaning chemicals
- Ability to fill out chemical identification stickers
- Previous related experience and familiarity with environmental services equipment and cleaning techniques preferred
- Additional related education or experience preferred
Job Duties
- Performs a variety of assigned cleaning tasks including dusting mopping scrubbing disinfecting vacuuming and polishing according to departmental policy and procedures
- Empties hampers and transports of soiled linen
- Empties trash containers and removes all trash including medical waste containers and sharps
- Inventories restocks and replenishes supplies such as toilet tissue paper towels hand soap etc in all assigned areas
- Maintains cleanliness of departmental equipment and notifies appropriate personnel as repairs become necessary
- Performs special projects such as windows washing wall washing and removing heavily soiled items or furnishings
- Responds to questions and requests from patients staff and visitors
- Meets or exceeds goals for customer service satisfaction
